My DW and I are going on an anniversary trip the end of August/First of September. We've ate at most places but decided on this trip to eat at new restaurants and need help with any tips you can give us. We are especially looking for Coral Reef and Garden Grill tips but we are also eating at 50's Prime Time, Mama Melrose and O'hana's Character breakfast. We are on the DDP as well so price isn't an issue. Looking for food tips, best tables, and whatever.

Thanks, in advance, for your time.

We can't wait!!!!!!

My opinion is DON'T consider MM for a special dinner. We were not impressed with it. We don't know a lot about the other choices you gave, but we really loved GG, although it's more fun than romantic, in case you were looking for a nice meal. I would choose Coral Reef for atmosphere out of those choices, but I won't know about the food until Sept when we are trying it out!

My whole family drools over the food here Plus, Mickey is there!!! It is a very low-key character meal, which is appealing when using a meal as a time to relax from park touring!!!! Last time we opted to try Crystal Palace instead.... we were very dissapointed and will be back at GG next time!!:rotfl:

We just returned on Tuesday and ate at all the places you mention (though we had 'Ohana for dinner, not breakfast).

Mama Melrose is good Italian food. Service is sometimes slow (but ours was friendly and helpful).

Prime Time is lots of fun.

Garden Grill is good food in a basic way. The dessert was one of DH's favorite of the trip. Characters are fun there, and the rotating restaurant is unique. For a character meal, it is the quietest, I suppose.

Coral Reef was excellent. Many people complain about it, but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal there and liked the atmosphere too.

We also really liked Kona Cafe, 'Ohana (dinner), and Chef Mickey's (dinner). Really on this trip, all of our meals were very good.

We didn't like Coral Reef in January '07. It is a beautiful restaurant-but the food was not so hot!!!!
Would reccommend Kona for dinner or O'hana for dinner anytime-YUM!!!!!
Have a great trip!!!!!

Thanks for the tips. We've ate at practically every restaurant in the "world" and these are a few of what's left. For those who are interested, Le Cellier's is great as is Rose & Crown, SciFi, Akershus (Norway), Cape May's and Cap'n Jacks. These are our favorites. Romance is great with just the two of us but we also like to have fun as well. Our signature says two kids-at-heart and we really love WDW sans kids!

Make sure you do Coral reef and call ahead and have the diver hold up a "Happy anniversary" banner in the aquarium. You can also email them pictures and they will make a personal menu with your photos scanned on it.

We are doing Garden Grill on our next trip and can't wait. I too would say if you haven't tried Kona you might want to we really enjoyed it on our trip.
