Hi...I can only choose one....which one would you recommend? There are 2 adults and two children going (3 & 5 years old). We have no "decent" meals planned....all revolve around entertainment for the children, so, I h=made ressies for Coral Reef for lunch, but that means cancelling Biergarten for dinner because ressies are very close together...which should I choose?:confused3

My boys 3&5 love the Biergarten... it's a must do every trip. I think for them it's all about the entertainment and dancing there...

Beer good.
The food at the Biergarten is great and the show is terrific. It's a can't miss for me. Be warned, the seating is at tables of 8 and you'll be with others, but to us that's part of the fun.

We have done both but our kids are teens. They actually did not care for Biergarten. They didnt like having to sit with other people and they didnt like the food, they did like the entertainment though. At Coral Reef the one ds hates fish, he got the pizza, it was pretty noisy in there but they liked the atmosphere alot better and the portions though are really small for the price. If you can get a tankside table that would be great. Best of luck deciding.

We've only done Biergarten - DS11, DS8, DD6....at those ages they didn't care about sitting with other people (kind of interesting to them, actually)

11 year old is fussy eater - he did not care for most of the Biergarten food BUT of course he did find the mac & cheese and the other buffet foods that looked "normal" ;) 8 year old loved the food. 6 year old eats like a bird but did fine in spite of an aversion to meat.

There's definitely an entertainment element at Biergarten - kids pretended they knew how to dance to the oompah band, etc....

It was definitely a good time.

We have been to Biergarten twice and love it. The last time we took our DS4 pirate: who found some food in the buffet he liked and also enjoyed the casual atmosphere and entertainment. I have not been to Coral Reef yet so can not comment. Hope you love whichever you choose.

Biergarten!!! :thumbsup2 My kids loved it! They ate well and loved the entertainment! It's a must do for our next trip(s)! :thumbsup2

Of the 2, I'd stick with Biergarten with smaller kids. They have great entertainment and the kids can take you to the dance floor and dance to the band!!

Plus, the buffet has kid food. I even had some Mac and Cheese, just cuz I had to have it, LOL!

We ate at Coral Reef, and it does take time to get food as you are ordering off a menu. The food is great and the atmosphere is awesome.

Have a great trip.

We had lunch at the Coral Reef during spring break. I thought the food should have been better. We eat most of our meals at Epcot and I left thinking it was not worth a TS credit. The fish tanks were cool but not impressed with it. We will not be back.

I am sorry to hear you had that experience - our experience was just the opposite - we were there the week of May 6th and enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. I highly recommend the Braised BBQ Beef with Polenta, Mahi-Mahi with Honey Soy Glaze over Israeli Couscous and Baby Spinach and the Chocolate Wave.

Have never been to WDW's Biergarten but went to the equivalent at Busch Gardens Williamsburg so I imagine the experiences are the same. They encourage children to participate so that might be a better option than Coral Reef with really young kids.

Biergarten!!! We were there this past Dec and ended up doing both, at the time my DS's were 2 1/2 and 10 months old. Coral Reef was way over rated!! The food was not that impressive and we were about as far away from the tank as you could be, even with a request with our ADR to be near it!! The Beirgarten was so much fun, we will be returning in Dec and I cannot wait!!!!

Well personally I don't like seafood so the choice is clear. BUT I can tell you that my picky eater son can't wait to go back to Biergarten AND there's live entertainment with a little dance area in front of the stage that the kids just *loved* when we were there.
