Just made arrangments for a diver sign and menu for my DM's 60th birthday. Should I call prior to arrival to confirm? Has anyone had things not go as planned? The CM that I dealt with was exceptionally nice!

How do you make arrangements for a diver sign, and how much does it cost?
Sorry to hijack your thread, just curious :)

The diver and the menu are free.

When we went in July the diver was great but they couldn't find the personalized menu we had requested for my son. He didn't know anything about it so he was thrilled over the diver and the cake we had ordered. I was disappointed about the menu though.

We had the diver for my dd 10th bday and she loved it! My travel agent arranged everything and reassured me that we did not have say a word..even @ check-in that night(not to spoil the surprise). They printed a personalized menu for her to take home. The only probably we had was that the sign said "Mary Beth" instead of "Molly Beth". But she still loved the attention and the magic. DH & I were so relieved when the diver finally showed up because we were having a hard time relaxing until we saw him coming. We were very, very lucky to also have MICKEY dive down for a special viewing:banana:   the waitress says this is a rare thing. All in all.....it was a very Magical bday for all of us! Hope you feel the same magic...of course you will...You will be in the most magical place on earth..wish I was there right now!

OT...how do you guys afford to go to WDW so many times a year. You must make millions or very creative...a would love to know your secret!

I was told our ADR was flagged so the staff new but nothing was verbally said to you when you arrive. I cannot wait for this for DD!

OT answer to an OT question :)

I go a lot to DLP (next to visiting DL and WDW) because I:
- stay offsite (we do the same at DL and are staying value at WDW)
- don't spend money on restaurant visits while being at home
- don't spend money on spas/ manicures/ pedicures/ ...
-...

One USD for you is the same as one USD for me. I don't make millions of USD, I just set my priorities in how to spend them.
It helps of course that I do have a rather well-paying job (including paid cellphone and company car with gas paid by company) and that I am single with no kids.

On my upcoming DLP vacation (2 more days!) we'll stay at a B&B that costs us 50 EUR instead of 189 EUR at the cheapest Disney resort.
During our upcoming big trip to Florida, we'll cruise Carnival instead of Celebrity because it's cheaper, we rent a small car instead of the SUV I would like to drive, we stay at a Disney value resort, we won't eat TS meals each day, ... I have to admit though that we are booked on two tours at WDW and that we don't intend to be cheap on excursions while cruising.

ETA: also, to save +/- 200 USD per person during our "big trip" we are leaving from MCO at 6 am, and will have to spend almost 9 hours at Washington Dulles! It will be a PITA, literally, but we are willing to go through that inconvenience to save more than 400 USD.

SANDRAVB79, sorry I never responded to HOW you do this...I actually found out about it on the web. You call the restaurant directly and leave a message for Debbi. Be prepared for a little bit of phone tag. She will get you all set up. She is super nice!

I think the phone number can be found in the Offical Birthday Cake thread. If I can find it, I'll post it again here for you!:)

Our date is filled up (Sept 26) with divers but she said to email her some photos and they would do a menu. She was very nice about it..
