Coral Reef Discrepancy with DDP.

Hi,

My husband and I are going on our first trip to WDW 12/19-12/25 for the holiday as well as our anniversary on the 21st. This website has been a tremendous help in my research.

We are staying at POFQ. We have 7 day tickets with the park hopper option, as well as the DDP.

I had 2 questions and I just found the answer on the 180 ADR for on-site guests being able to plan their whole stay at one time. Phew!....That would have been very annoying to have to call in the morning at 4am for 6 consecutive days. I feel awful for those that aren't on-site...seems like this should be advertised as one of the huge advantages of staying on site. I'm digressing already...sorry!

My next question is about Coral Reef. Everything I find on the internet shows this to be a 1 table service restaurant. However, I found on the WDW website today that they consider Coral Reef a "Signature" establishment. So, obviously the description of the DDP shows these as requiring 2 table service deductions. Maybe this is a brand new change? I probably should just contact the dining number to clarify, but I thought this might be interesting to others. Anyone have any very recent experience there?

Thanks!

Also I am pretty sure that anyone can book the 180 days out.. not just those staying on site

That's correct. If you're staying onsite you get 190 days, so you can call on day 180 and make ADR's for 10 days.

We ate at Coral Reef on Tuesday May 1st and it was 1 TS. Hope that helps. (It was a delicious meal, by the way!)

Go into Epcot on the WDW.com main page in the top left hand corner, under where it shows WDW and then has choices of parks, resorts or more magic.

When I made our adr for Sept the cm made sure to confirm that it was a 1 ts credit dinner, she should have told you the same.

When you go through the Epcot park section, then the dining, that's a year or so old. As up to date as WDW is, the websites not;)

mommytothreeboys, we were there on Tuesday, too! we were there for 6:00 ressies.

We had the diver do a banner and had a personal menu. It was really cool and DD5 was so excited!

We e-mailed them 5 photos of my family and they put them on the menu with a title saying "Nemo and Friends welcome the ______family". DD5 thought is was super cool! And what a grat keepsake. I called the Coral Reef (call disney dining and ask for the Coral Reef and there is a prompt to talk to a manager to arrange a menu or a diver with a personal banner.

How cool!

Is there a charge for this? If so, how much?

Also, if you are using a search engine like Google or Yahoo to get to the page, you may be getting an old cached page that is completely out of date. If you type the URL in yourself, you should get the right info...assuming the website has been updated.

If you go to some of the "unofficial" sites for any popular destination, you are likely to get outdated information.

I believe coral reef was originally a 2 credit restaurant. We were excited to see it as one credit when we went last year....then we got there....... Oh well to each his own. We found we really dont care for the fancier restaurants and are going to keep it simple on our december trip. Wont be maxing out the plan but we will enjoy ourselves more.

Thank you so much for posting this. What is the banner & is it free as well?
