Coral Reef-Blackened Catfish?

Has anyone been there recently or are you going soon? On a recent thread a poster said the Blackened Catfish over pepperjack grits was not on the menu anymore. I think this was in January. Just curious..it was so good last time, I was hoping for 'seconds' in August.

Oh no! This was my DH's fave at Coral Reef! Would love to hear reports on this as well.

we are going next weekend and will eat there on Sunday for lunch. I will write back when we return to let you know if its on there! From what I can tell, its still on their online menu. I'll order it since so many seem to enjoy it!

It has been off the menu for awhile. I had it last September, it was removed about a month after that. Doesn't mean it isn't back now.

I booked there last Oct for lunch JUST for that dish (had it before and it's my fav). When we got there it was no longer on the menu.

But, we still had a great lunch there. I had the tilapia and it was good. I just miss the catfish though. the grits were awesome.

It was a great dish...I don't get the reasoning behind taking it off menu. It didn't have to be catfish if that was the issue. I have made it (my version..LOL) at home using tilapia.

I am pretty sure you are referring to my post in another thread. Unfortunately, the catfish was not on the menu in January, and I have not heard a report since of the dish returning. The AllEars online menu has not been updated since September 2009, which was probably a couple weeks before the change.

The Coral Reef page on the official Disney World Web site has a PDF file of the current menu. The catfish is not present.

It was a big disappointment, because I booked a dinner there to order the catfish again. I was anticipating the meal for months. I had the mahi-mahi instead, and fortunately, it was equally delicious.

Sorry to disappoint!

No catfish! I had the mahi mahi which was terrific.
