What are people's thoughts on this vs. Garden Grill?

We now have TS for Garden Grill but haven't heard rave reviews. Coral Reef looks great but I have a son with autism (Asperger's) and will only eat french fries and chicken when we are out and I didn't see that on the menu. (Although when I asked Tepan Edo will accomodate for him with chicken and french fries I wonder if Coral Reef would to.)

I would appreciate any information as I have one possible dinner switch and still one TS to book.

I also looked at Cape May's for dinner but I am seeing mixed reviews there too.

Would love to hear your thoughts!

just did CR with DS6 and DD5 and they loved it---food was the best of our TS meals also!!!

we hated garden grill it's way too loud, horrible service, lackluster food(borderline disgusting, blech) we also ate at coral reef and my DD loved it. They did have french fries, but I'm sure that they would accomodate chicken as well for you. we're going back in the fall and definitely going back to Coral reef but NOT garden grill.

I say Garden Grill:goodvibes We love it there.....DS 9 has Asperger's and it is his FAVORITE character meal! You don't have to get up to get your food, the characters DON'T do a parade around the room with music and chaos!! The food was great and the booths that we sat in are awesome for blocking everything else out. I could go on and on, but that is our experience. Good luck with your choice:yay:

We have had two nice dinners at Coral Reef.

We had dinner once at Garden Grill two years ago, and it was the worst Disney meal we've ever had. We will not return even though the characters are fun.

We love Coral Reef- and they were VERY accomedating for my picky 3 year old!

I vote for Garden Grill. Yes, it was better in the past but I think most Disney restaurants were. We were there last spring and we still liked it.

We took DS to Coral reef and he had grilled chicken then for a side they were able to get him fries since there was milk in the mashed potatoes
I am sure they can get nuggets too if you ask
We have never been to garden grill

Never did the GArden Grill but Coral Reef has become one of our must do restaurants for every trip.

You know what they say about opinions......:rotfl:

Garden Grill was our favorite meal from our first trip in 2006, and we are going back in June. We ate at Coral Reef during our 2007 trip, and I still want that dining credit back:sick:.

At Garden Grill, we had a booth facing the railing. It felt private (you coudn't see anything inside the restaurant-just the scenery). The characters were wonderful!

At Coral Reef, the scenery was pretty, but felt kind of stuffy for my kids, and the food was not our taste at all!

Agreed! We love Garden Grill - it's our arrival night tradition, and our kids' favorite restaurant at WDW. I can't say enough good things about the lower level booths - character interaction, but without all of the additional stimuli that comes with some character meals. Good luck!

We have done both the Garden Grill and Coral Reef. We have had good and bad at both places. That being said the last two trips to the Garden Grill were not very good. We were willing to give it a try last year just for the kids but were very disappointed. We were also disappointed with Coral Reef in 2007 but are going to give it another try this year. I think part of the disappointment was the fact that we had a large group and we had to wait an hour for our tables. We were even willing to be broken up into a smaller group and that didn't speed things along at all. We missed the fireworks that night due to having to wait for dinner. We always liked the food and the atmosphere. Hopefully this will be a better experience.

We have had terrible service at CR but GG has always been a good experience. I liek that the characters come to you and that the view changes slowly overtime (as the resturnaut rotates). As I recall my girls have been given chicken nuggest and french fries.

We have eaten at GG twice and enjoyed it both times. It was very relaxed and we thought the food was good, as was the service. We had dinner at CR in November and although the food was good I wouldn't go back. The service was VERY rushed. In fact, the server asked for our dessert choice when she took our order for dinner, and brought each of us 2 drinks so she wouldn't need to stop back as soon. We would return to Garden Grill, but not Coral Reef.
