We have 5 people in our party for dinner at CR. How close to the windows will be allowed to sit?

With a party of 5, you should be able to get one of the curved booths that face the tank. They have these on the first tier (closest to tank) and the second tier.

Both provide excellent tank viewing. These booths are my favorite seats in the place, much better than being at the 4 top tables right up on the glass.

We are a party of 5 too, and were seated nowhere close to the tanks the 1 time we ate there. They are so big that you can see regardless, but it would have been nice to be seated closer.

We'll be a party of 8, will we be able to get very close? This is the one restaurant my 13 year old is especially looking forward to, so want to make sure this one is as special for her as possible. Her career goal is to be a marine conservationist, so as to save the manatees and dolphins from extinction, she LOVES aquariums.

The restaurant is set up in tiers. The first tier, next to the tank, has tables of 4 and a few 2 tops right against the glass. Across the walking aisle are booths that seat 5 adults. The second tier is raised and starts right behind the booths. At the front of it, there are tables that seat 6 but are sometimes broken into smaller tops (we have sat at a 2 top there). Across the aisle is another row of booths that seat 5 adults. On the top tier are tables where larger parties are generally seated.

We have been in there as a group of 11 and we were seated on the second tier as a table for 6 across the aisle from a booth of 5.

They do have some flexibility here but not as much as most places due to the stationary booths. I do not go in here expecting to sit next to the tanks. We have dined here 7 times (ranging in party size from 2 to 11) and we have been seated on the first tier twice, the second tier 5 times and never on the third tier.

The third tier seats are not that good. You will have an unobstructed view but you are far away. First and second tiers are just fine.
