Does anyone have any recipes that would work like hamburger or chicken helper? Those store ones seem to keep getting smaller! I wanted to make up a few for those nights we need to grab some cooked ground beef or shredded chicken out of the freezer and make a super quick meal.

Thanks for any advice! :)

Growing up I always wanted to have hamburger helper but for some reason mom said no go, same for Mac N Cheese.

In our house it was a
1 lb ground round (now we use 95% lean)
1 jar of Ragu Not the really big not the small
1 lb box of elbow macaroni

Brown ground meat
Drain and Rinse (yes we rinse our meat)
Add jar of sauce

Boil mac and mix in.

I actually make it, place in a container and freeze, take out sprinkle some parm cheese on it and pop it in the micro wave.

As for chicken we keep pre cooked breasts in the fridge a few at a time, great for salads, or reheat with a little hot sauce and roll up in a flat bread.

Hope this helps...

I don't remember where I got this one from.

1 pound lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped (1/4 cup)
1 small green bell pepper, chopped (1/2 cup)
1 1/2 cups uncooked mafalda (mini-lasagna noodle) pasta (3 ounces)
1 1/4 cups water
1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 jar (14 ounces) tomato pasta sauce (any variety) or Marinara sauce
1 jar (4.5 ounces) sliced mushrooms, drained
1/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, if desired

1. Cook beef, onion and bell pepper in Dutch oven over medium-high heat about 6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain.
2. Stir in remaining ingredients except cheese. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally; reduce heat to low. Simmer uncovered 10 to 12 minutes or until pasta is tender. Sprinkle with cheese.
