Cops Connecting With Kids

For the 5th year my local police department is taking a group of kids from low income schools to WDW. This morning 64 kids plus chaperones are on the way. They'll be in t shirts with Cops Connecting With Kids on the front. If you see them send some Pixie Dust their way!! For some this may be their only trip.

Love that!! What a wonderful thing to do. Sending love to the Police Officers who go above and beyond I hope the kids have an amazing day!

I'll be a Debbie Downer. Assuming you are local? My first thought was who is paying for it? If it was my community I wouldn't want my tax dollars going for Disney trips. There are much less expensive ways for cops and kids to connect.

Wow I shouldn't be surprised, but I am. You are indeed a downer. If you must know it's funded through donations and fundraising. A local kids clothing bank donates clothes for the week.

Not only that, but this is a positive post where you have people helping kids. If they cannot say anything positive, why even click on the thread title? Don’t get it.

They are! They are staying at POP. MK yesterday. AK today. I've been following along on their social media page (I'd post it, but I think that is disallowed) and the smiles on these kids faces is priceless. Seeing first timers experience WDW like this sort of wipes away all the gripes and complaints we veterans sometimes have.

What a hateful person. Even if it was tax dollars being used if they can make a connection with one of these kids and set them on a good path it helps evereyone not just the kid. The more people we can keep out of trouble and help them live productive lives the better our communities and neighborhoods are.
