I've stayed at every
DVC resort except Wilderness. Should I stay at Copper Creek or Boulder Ridge, both are available for my trip in July-Aug, so I want to book soon.
I see the new renovations happening at Boulder ridge include the new Murphy beds. This is a huge plus for us. Does Copper Creek have the Murphy Beds?
Another comment I saw leaning the other direction is that Copper Creek has the more impressive lobby.
Thoughts?
Thanks!
We own at BRV, and have stayed at CCV. The WL lobby serves both DVC resorts, and BRV just happens to have a separate "lobby" (although it's just a rotunda, with no services whatsoever). Regardless of which resort you are staying at, you're still utilizing the main WL lobby. BRV is really just a "wing" of the hotel, connected by the short walkway. It's MUCH closer than, say, the VGF rooms are to the Grand Flo lobby. There's nothing stopping you entering through the main lobby headed to either CCV or BRV.
Also, we kinda like that the BRV villas are that short walk (under a covered walkway) from the main lobby, because that lobby can get LOUD at times, and, if you are staying in a CCV cabin, those are for the most part further away from the lobby than any BRV rooms. BRV also has its own pool that isn't "shared" with the main hotel (although all guests are welcome to use it).Oh, and the bus stop is actually outside BRV, not the main lobby. Plus you have the Carolwood Pacific Room in the BRV lobby too, and Sturdy Branches, the WL health club/gym is also located in the BRV lobby.
Finally, for us, the layout of the CCV rooms is a bit awkward: they are converted hotel rooms, so it's basically 3 identical rectangular spaces joined together, which forces the villas to utilize a galley-style kitchen that you have to walk through to get to the living room.
Having said all of THAT, we do have 2 trips to BRV this year, and one trip to CCV.
