Copper Creek vs Boulder Ridge - help me decide

I've stayed at every DVC resort except Wilderness. Should I stay at Copper Creek or Boulder Ridge, both are available for my trip in July-Aug, so I want to book soon.

I see the new renovations happening at Boulder ridge include the new Murphy beds. This is a huge plus for us. Does Copper Creek have the Murphy Beds?

Another comment I saw leaning the other direction is that Copper Creek has the more impressive lobby.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

We own at BRV, and have stayed at CCV. The WL lobby serves both DVC resorts, and BRV just happens to have a separate "lobby" (although it's just a rotunda, with no services whatsoever). Regardless of which resort you are staying at, you're still utilizing the main WL lobby. BRV is really just a "wing" of the hotel, connected by the short walkway. It's MUCH closer than, say, the VGF rooms are to the Grand Flo lobby. There's nothing stopping you entering through the main lobby headed to either CCV or BRV.

Also, we kinda like that the BRV villas are that short walk (under a covered walkway) from the main lobby, because that lobby can get LOUD at times, and, if you are staying in a CCV cabin, those are for the most part further away from the lobby than any BRV rooms. BRV also has its own pool that isn't "shared" with the main hotel (although all guests are welcome to use it).Oh, and the bus stop is actually outside BRV, not the main lobby. Plus you have the Carolwood Pacific Room in the BRV lobby too, and Sturdy Branches, the WL health club/gym is also located in the BRV lobby.

Finally, for us, the layout of the CCV rooms is a bit awkward: they are converted hotel rooms, so it's basically 3 identical rectangular spaces joined together, which forces the villas to utilize a galley-style kitchen that you have to walk through to get to the living room.

Having said all of THAT, we do have 2 trips to BRV this year, and one trip to CCV.

As an owner at CCV, I would go BRV. Those murphy beds will beat a pull-out couch any time! I can't wait to try out BRV in the future.

And as stated above, the main lobby is for everyone and really is a "few steps" away from BRV. Wilderness is not enormous like OKW or any of those sprawling resorts.

Just came back from Christmas - just amazing. Also, the small lobby area in BRV is really neat and a wonderful place to take a drink and relax. The train displays are cool if you like that type of thing. Lots to see in a small area.

Wow, thanks for this. I just booked a BRV studio. The small pull-out bed is what sold me, but all these other pluses are amazing to hear about. Especially how close the rooms actually are to the main lobby.

Congrats on the decision. BRV also puts you pretty close to the boat dock when heading to MK, and close to Geyser Point for eats...and close to the bus stop too. For being removed in a separate building, it's really well integrated and located on the resort grounds so all of the resort facilities and main lobby feel very much like yours too.

How dare you and I don't own there. :rotfl2:
The best part about BRV is the lobby they have a train room with nice chairs in front of a fire place well with trains.... if trains interest you then look around if they don't they still have 2 of the original train cars from Walt Disney's personal ride on train and more and better the chairs in front of the fire place.
We stayed at CC last year and while it some small advantages I found myself enjoying the BR lobby. I did not find the CC rooms all that nice but that is personal as it was more the normal every room theme Disney is leaning towards with some themed pictures and lamps. I do not think you can go wrong with either side we personally prefer the BR side but which ever make sure to spend some time in the lobby of BR you may like it... if not less people to worry about when we stay there again sitting my chairs.

I own 300 points at BRV (we have 2 trips there this year), so I'm all about the Carolwood Pacific Room. My point was that even if you do stay at BRV, you'll still be going to the main lobby for all hotel services, food locations, the Mercantile, etc. When people see "separate lobby", it makes it sound like it can function independently (like BLT versus CR), or that it is further away than it really is. Plus, the covered breezeway between WL and BRV is so short, it's more like the walkway to BCV then the one to VGF.

The lobby is a hidden gem that many people unfortunately don't discover unless they are staying in BRV, or go exploring.

ETA: I actually picked up a single night in a studio at CCV in March to tack onto a non-Disney stay at the Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes (work conference trip).

Thank you everyone for the replies. We booked BRV there were so many advantages that I didn't think of, plus all the new room renovations look stunning. Can't wait to try out my last DVC resort!
are all the renovations complete?

No, but the rooms that aren't complete yet are in progress, so only renovated rooms are available for checkin. IOW, anyone checking in now or after is guaranteed a renovated room.
Are we sure the refurbs are done? I just booked a two bedroom for a couple days in mid April... keeping my fingers crossed. 🤞

Pre-DVC we stayed at WL in room that overlooked the lobby. It was very loud with all the lobby noise. Fortunately it was only one night, otherwise we would have asked to be moved. BRV=no lobby noise.

By all reports the only rooms in service are refurbished. The remaining ones that are not refurbished are closed down for work.
We stayed at BRV in mid-September 2022 in a one-bedroom unit on the 4th floor. They were renovating a room right across the hall and perhaps others as well (plastic covered the hallway carpeting, etc). That was right around the start of the renovations though and I’ve since heard only renovated units are available for booking. We are visiting again in September and will be excited to see the renovated units.
