Copper Creek or Beach Club

So, I have a question that is highly subjective. We have an upcoming November split stay, 3 nights in a 1BDR at Copper Creek before moving to our home resort (Poly) for 3 nights. For us, even with the absence of larger room options (the bungalows are not an option for us :)), nothing matches the Poly. However, my DH loves Wilderness Lodge. SO, we will return there for the split portion of our stay. However, since the exact 7-month mark I have had a waitlist for Beach Club. (For what it is worth, I do not believe there is a single chance that the waitlist gets filled.). We are not big festival people, so that is not the draw for us. BUT, this is our first trip back since 2019 and DH is a HUGE Star Wars fan, getting his first chance to see Batuu. The proximity to HS would be a bonus. We have never stayed at Beach Club and wonder would it be worth it to make that change? Would you switch from Copper Creek to Beach Club if you had the chance? I appreciate all opinions. Thanks

I'm glad that you noted resort choice is subjective -- that is so very true :) And my answer will reflect that. While we love visiting Wilderness Lodge (like walking around the resort, the ambiance and some dining there), we just don't enjoy staying there as guests any more. If I'm going to be in the MK resort area, I'll definitely be on the monorail loop and in one of the big three. Plus, I find the pools undersized/overcrowded at WL (among other reasons).

On the other hand, we love the Beach Club. We own at three resorts, but not Beach Club. So like you, when we can get it from time to time, we very much love staying there. Stormalong Bay, the general vibe of the whole Crescent Lake area, plus two parks on your doorstep....for me this is an easy pick. But again, that is my very subjective view ;)

We like "things" about Beach Club but really not big fans. On the other hand we love Wilderness Lodge and our home is OKW which we really love. This is the beauty of DVC, something for everyone...ºoº

We absolutely love Beach Club ! It was our first resort when our kids were little and one of our top 3 ! We just stayed at Yacht Club in June . It is an amazing location. We took the boat at 8am to HS twice . It was direct to HS . We would have walked if necessary but the boat was quick and pain free ! Walking to Epcot is so convenient and you will be even closer at BC ! BTW when you walk to Epcot if you take the path along the water you don’t have to walk up the bridge . Saves your weary feet ! It is semi shaded also 😃
In regards to Wilderness Lodge , we are from Illinois so it feels like we are in Wisconsin 🤣 When we go to Disney we want to feel like we are in Florida ! ☀️🌴 I think you will love BC ! It really is a special location !

I love WL and dislike the BC, but I do think if you are planning on spending a lot of time at the Studios on those days, if the BC reservation were to open up (as you said, unlikely), I'd switch. Ambiance is less important at Disney to me than time - and I don't want to be spending a lot of time on transportation. Even if I'm not going commando in the parks, sitting at the pool, the lounge or in my room is better than sitting on a bus.

(Home for us is BW, so I'm well familiar with the ease of access BWV/BCV gives you).

The location of Beach Club can't be beat - the ease of walking to two parks and being able to take those mid-day breaks at the resort cannot be underestimated. We almost always do a MK/Epcot area split stay because of transportation alone, so for me, making the switch from CC to BCV would be an easy choice.

It really depends on your priorities.
If being in walking distance to HS and EPCOT is important, then BC is the easy choice. If you have younger kids who will love Stormalong Bay, again BC is the easy choice.
If that doesn't matter, Copper Creek is beautiful. It is a short boat ride to MK. Everything else is a bus.

Beach Club for fantastic pool, location and access to the parks, CCV for environment, wildlife and authentic wilderness feel.
My choice would be BCV for what it's worth.🙄

I would stay at the better one. That's just my opinion. YMMV

WL is our home resort and we love it there. I've stayed at BC once and for, I think 4 days. It was a quick trip and in the beginning of March so I think that's the only reason our waitlist come thru for there. While there were some things we liked about the BC, like walking to the Boardwalk and the pool....there's only so much to see and do on the Boardwalk and it get old fast.

I own DVC at CCV and there’s nothing better during Christmas time than the lodge. Depending on the dates in Nov, there’s a good chance the tree would be up. I will say though, we split stayed at CCV/BCV last Dec mainly because we had our EP and HS days planned around it. There’s nothing like being able to walk to both resorts. If you’re only doing HS, I probably wouldn’t sacrifice the amazing opportunity you’d have staying at CCV.

Definitely subjective! We own at both CCV and BCV and typically do some sort of split stay with a MK resort, and then Epcot/HS. Since you’re already spending time at Poly, I’d definitely opt for BCV. BUT we love love love CCV (especially if you’re there late enough in November for Christmas decorations to be up). Tough choice for sure!

We love CCV and we own there. I believe it is one of the prettiest resorts - especially during the Holidays or when it's cold (somehow it being cold makes it prettier). That said, I would love taking the boat or the Skyliner to HS (and home again). I think all of this turns on how important the boat/Skyliner are too you.

If you really want proximity to HS, the answer is BW, which is more likely to get filled than BC anyway.

I doubt either will be an option in November though.

When in November are you going? If the Christmas decorations are up, not many resorts (if any) can top the Wilderness Lodge.

Update - work schedules forced a change in our vacation dates. We were originally supposed to be at WDW the first week of November. Now we will be there at the start of March. We (really I mean me) decided to give BC a try since we have previously stayed at WL. Although my DH loves WL he is willing to try a new hotel so I figured why not while we have the chance. Plus, it marks another hotel off the list. (After this trip there will only be 5 Disney hotels we have not tried.).

Love it. ❤️ Enjoy!!!
