Copper Creek 360 Degree Virtual Tours

Shrug, we all like different things. The original VWL are so 90s they hurt. Given the long contract length they are probably trying to appeal younger anyhow.

4, there's no sleeper chair or pull out.

I actually really like the design, but I'm a big industrial/modern fan. Don't care if it has some rustic touches or not. ;)
They don't even allow five with your own bedding. It's a hard four occupancy limit. We will never stay there.

Or maybe a forest resort in Sweden with IKEA furniture.
I'm still chuckling 20 minutes later after seeing this. True, true. Granted, I know many others will love the "theme" of the new rooms, but for me those rooms mostly lack imagination compared to what they could have been. Headboards? Like them. Sconces? Same. A few other touches are nice. But, the countertops? Yuck. The mixed woods and styles in the kitchen and bedrooms? Terrible. The bureau in the studio? Really, you need six different colors of faux wood surrounded by white paint? White/cream couches? Those will stay clean about a year. To be fair, any new build would be a hard sell for us given our age and the cost of new price points anymore, but certainly CCVC will not tempt us in the least--just too unthemed.

We usually stay at Bay Lake for the convenience of walking to MK. We stayed at WL a few years back, and my son was pushing to stay there this summer. We always thought that BL rooms were a little sterile, and would prefer more Disney themed, but after looking at the new Copper Creek rooms, we might stick with Bay Lake. There new rooms appear small and no theming, and the original boulder ridge villas look dated and bland to me-That being said, the resort itself I think is beautiful, I just wish the villas were a little nicer-Decision, decisions!

Now I'm certain DVC and the designer who did the refurb there 3-4 years ago would be very confused by that statement. I have to say it's nothing like I remember from the 90's either.

Did you buy at CCV?

So is the two bedroom and a bed and a pull out couch in the second bedroom??

The model is a lock-off so afaik no one has seen the dedicated 2BR. Descriptions have the 2 queens in the second bedroom of the dedicated 2BR.

I'm in a love it / hate it frame of mind. I love it because it is so much brighter and light. I could never stand the darkness of Wilderness or Animal Kingdom villas. And I despised (in all WDW resorts) dingy, dirty carpeting and those awful bedspreads. So laminate, or whatever it is, I'm just happy for no carpet and better bedding. I hate it obviously because of what others have said. I think they could have designed an updated version with more theme. Davy Crockett and all that. (Showing my age ... oops). Wonder how one would do Davy Crockett w/stainless steel? Dilemma.

Count me in as those disappointed. The furnishings look more like what I get at a Wyndham timeshare, i.e., cheap. The dresser, that tiny table, the chairs, the nightstand, all look cheap. Also disappointing is the tiny safe, and no floor lamp. And of course there is no clock radio, nor most likely a freezer section in the mini fridge. On the other hand, I really like the stall shower.
I will try to book for my end of November stay, for 5 nights on a split stay. But in the future, I just don't see it worth a premium over AKL or even OKW.

Well the refurb definitely changed that, I was talking more before it happened.

No, we didn't and very likely won't buy CCV for a few reasons, including the lack of an option for a 5th person and the dues (salt in the wound after the direct costs!). I was hopeful though, because I do love the lodge! We'll probably try to stay there on a summer trip at some point though.

Count me in as one who finds the rooms too plain, narrow and hotel like. I really liked the stenciled leaves in the old, old VWL. It gave it character even when all the mismatched carpet, sofa and curtains was too much for me. I guess those of us who liked the heavy theming will have to get used to the new cleaner look.

I must say that the cabins look great and we are hoping to stay there this Feb.

I can see why people don't like it. I do think it looks just fine based on the walkthrough as I like clean and modern. I am however not experienced with home design in any way. So I probably wouldn't notice the level of detail that others do. I will say my colleagues from Portland would probably love that throw on the bed.

Maybe downtown Seattle Pacific coast inspired.

Otherwise I think Deb nailed it.
Seattle here! And its totally what everyone is going with these days. It's like a Seattle suburb spec build. But that said, I like it. There's always Fort Wilderness cabins for anyone dying for logs.

So, that's a faux steel beam as the "decorative" soffit in the kitchen?

If it resembled any actual structural necessity I might be OK, but it screams "designer who took art classes but never stepped foot in an engineering classroom"

But I kinda like the beam in the bedroom. Why couldn't they use that beam between the living room and kitchen to hide the drywalled HVAC bulkhead, too?

I have to say, I was surprised at how much I liked the decor when I did the tour a couple of weeks ago. To me it felt clean and very functional. They have really maximized storage in the studio in a way that they didn't at the Poly. Also, though you can't see it in the picture, besides the storage that the coffee table has in the studio, the top can be lifted up so it functions as a "table" to eat in front of the TV.
