Coping with a Dog with Cancer

So sorry to hear about Lucky. I just stumbled on this post, i guess because i am still grieving myself. on the 20th, it will be a year that I lost my Ashlea (see my avatar), to canine cushings disease. She could no longer walk and was dragging herself along best she could. She was 14. It is NEVER easy. You learn to live without them but never get over them. My dog, Chelsea, who was Ash's best friend, died 5 yrs before her, at age 17. at least now, i know they are together. I know someday, we will ALL be together. I've had dreams of Ash, 3 nights in a row now and she is so happy. Her little stub-tail is wagging like crazy and i literally felt the wetness of her licking my face in my sleep. I think that was her way of telling me thank you and she is happy now. Watch for signs, they will come and you will know what you did was right and out of the sheer love you will always have in your heart. Not even death can ever take that away.
Just know that the grief is normal and let the tears flow, it does help no matter what anyone tells you.

I too am very sorry to hear about your beloved Lucky. We had a dog named Lucky who sadly passed away many years ago. My weimeraner has bladder cancer, and my brother just found out his cat has lymphoma. I came upon your thread looking to see if anyone had mentioned anything about cats with lymphoma. The Dis is so helpful. I hope your family is healing over time.
