Coordinating Adr swaps

How do you go about coordinating a swap? When should you do it? With how much notice?

This is what I do: I coordinate a time to meet for the drop. I message to make sure the person is signed in, and then I tell them I'm going to drop as soon as I get a message from them saying they are signed in and ready. Best tips: Even if you need less than what they are dropping, I always go for the same number. For instance, if someone is dropping a BOG for 6, I search for the 6, grab it, then go in and modify. I have tried to do drops where the person was searching for a lesser number, and I could see it but she couldn't. After 5 minutes, I grabbed it, then messaged her to try for the same number I had the reservation for then I dropped it again and she got it. Also, sometimes it doesn't show up if you're searching for "Dinner" It usually shows up at the time (say 6:30 for example) but a lot of success is searching under the restaurant you want the reservation for. I was trying to get a reservation someone dropped and I was looking under Dinner, then the time, but nothing showed up. Finally I went in under BOG, put in the time for 6 people and it was there.

Also, do it at an off peak time. That helps as well.

You may wish to join your month's Reservation group. When you see someone who has a reservation they want to cancel that you're hoping to pick up you PM them by clicking their User Name and then selecting 'Start a Conversation.'

Depending on what you're looking for you will need to be quick. Last week I tried to pick up an 'Ohana reservation from someone and even though I was clicking every few seconds when she cancelled it (and for about 5 mins afterwards) it was still missed. Keep trying though. Stuff comes and goes and the closer you get to your trip the more cancellations there will be.

Is trading allowed on the cancellation boards? I think I have hit the minimum to be able to have a conversation, but it’s not showing up for me does it take a while to become active?
