Cooperstown, NY

Anyone visit this area? DH and I are thinking about spending the weekend there. We live about 4 hours away and will visit the baseball hall of fame. I also read something about a nearby brewery and a state park (for hiking) that looked interesting.

Any suggestions would be great!

If it's just you and your DH then you might want to try a B&B. We stayed at both the Inn at Cooperstown (www.innatcooperstown.com) and the Landmark Inn (www.landmarkinn.com). We stayed for one night at each during the snow storm last February (it never stopped snowing from the day we left L.I. to the day we left to come home) for a wedding we were attending. Both were great places to stay.

The Inn at Cooperstown does not have a t.v. in any of the rooms or a fridge. However, there is a t.v. in a room downstairs that is shared by everyone. The only thing I did not like was the shower. It was equivalent to a shower stall, but on the small side. The shower curtain didn't hold back the water enough which caused the floor to get pretty wet. Other than that, we enjoyed our one night stay and the continental breakfast.

The Landmark Inn was very nice (we stayed in Room 5 which had a large bathroom). There was a fridge in the room, plus a t.v. Breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, toast and fruit. We really enjoyed it and would have loved to have stayed an extra night, but we were already booked at the Landmark. If we ever go back up to Cooperstown again (just the two of us), we agreed that we would like to stay here.
