coolers?

My brother is going with is family for the first time. My niece has cebreal palsey and is fed through a tube in her stomach. Some of her formulas need refrigeration. Can you bring in coolers?? What about lockers? How big are they??

Do you mean in the parks or in their room?

The deluxe and moderate resorts have built in refrigerators in the rooms.
They are dorm size undercounter refrigerators.

For the parks, they would be able to bring a small cooler in. There are lockers at the parks, but a better option would be to store it in First Aid. They will keep it there for them in a refrigerator.
Another thing to check is if the formula that normally needs refrigeration might come in a version that doesn't need refrigeration. For example, someone had posted that they were using a concentrated formula that needs to be refrigerated after it is mixed with water. That formula also comes in a ready to feed version in smaller cans that don't need refrigeration until they are opened. Those are too expensive for regular use, but are really handy for travel because you don't have to worry about refrigerating them.

Disney has three rules concerning coolers in the parks.

1. The four major parks allow "small, soft-sided, coolers".

2. The water parks rule is if you can carry, drag or wheel it you may bring it in.

3. However, nothing in glass containers and no alcoholic beverages are permitted.

In recent weeks I have seen: Starbucks cold coffees, Snapple, IBC root beer, pickles, salsa, Mayonaisse, hot sauce. All of these are in glass. We give people four options: (1) return item to car, (2) put item in trash, (3) we will provide large paper cups to transfer and then throw away container, or (4) consume the item on the spot and throw away the container.

I did allow one exception, when I saw someone bringing in two 10ml bottles of insulin since I know they will not break if dropped.

We'll have a fridge in the room, but they told us to plan to bring a soft-sided cooler for the parks. I thought that most likely there would be a fridge at First Aid, but you never know!

We have not used the "drug storage" in First Aid, but have been to First Aid in all the parks for other reasons and have seen refrigerators.
The WDW Passporter for Your Special Needs book does list refrigerators as a service available in First Aid in the parks, so I would consider that it has been verified.

I have used the fridges at First Aid. What they do is have you fill out a form, sign the form and then they place the medication in a paper bag and staple one of the copies of the form to the bag. You keep the other part of the form to show them when you return to pick up or use your medication. The paper bag is then put into the fridge at the First Aid station.
