we are hoping to take a wheeled cooler on board due to having a 10mos old/for formula. Document pkge. showed up and said none allowed.Am arguing with MIL. about this and have seen threads here on this forum where people take coolers (especially wheeled ones) and fill them with souvenirs for the return once they are emptied. What s the real story ? We leave in one week so will also e-mail DCL direct with this inquiry.

On our two cruises we have taken a wheeled soft sided cooler onboard. No problem at all. They just don't want any ice in it so that it wont leak & cause problems or damage. We fill it with bottled water, soda, & beer on the way on the ship & souvenears on the way off. :) We will be doing this on our next cruise as well. Don't worry about it!

Soft sided smaller ones worked great for me and my "formula" (MGD Lite :rotfl2: ) I was able to fold it in our luggage and fill it with some beverages. Mine held approximately 10 cans. Our room steward was kind enough to make sure the melted water was dumped and fresh ice was in the cooler at all times.(with a little tip up front) There is a mini fridge in the staterooms but they are more of a cooler. I found that I had to place a bag of ice in there to get it to the proper temp.

Saw the same thing on my DOCS this week and was worried also. Thanks for asking! I bought the Mickey & friends cooler from disneydirect.com. It looks at lot like a piece of luggage w/ wheels & handle so I will be taking it on board with my "special" formula also. :cool1:

Hi lime and Sandy! We're on your cruise and haven't gotten our docs yet. I was wondering about the cooler as well. My DD drinks soy milk and I filled and mailed a medical form signed by the Dr.. I am worried that they won't have any board for her so was thinking of taking a cooler as well.

If you have a medical form filled out, you should be able to have a real fridge put in your room in place of the cooler. I would contact DCL now to get that taken care of before you leave.

We were on the Inaugural West Coast cruise and had no problem bringing our soft-sided cooler with wheels on board. We filled it with a few bottles of wine and some cans of ginger ale. We were worried after reading the documents but decided to give it a try anyway.

Really? I thought they would just provide the soy milk. Do I have to bring the soy milk and they give us a fridge or do they supply the milk?

They have soy milk, rice milk and a blend available. At breakfast they would give my son a whole carton and tell us to bring it back to the room. We even ordered it from room service. I can't remember the brand, but I'm thinking it was Pacific. It was the kind that didn't need refrigeration at first. I also remember seeing Rice Dream. At dinner we'd mix it with Hershey's syrup so he could have chocolate milk.

I had asked on the first day if some sort of non-dairy dessert was available and they kept bringing him Jello. On the last night they produced rice dream frozen dessert. I don't know why they didn't bring it sooner, since we kept asking if they had anything.
