I have been reading about the softsided cooler thing for bringing beverages on board and then today I received my docs and it states coolers are prohibited except for medicinal purposes. Whats up,do you pack them in your suitcase or does disney just look the other way. We are travelign with and infant so could claim for her.

I believe our last cruise documents said the same thing. We took our fold up cooler, our cabin steward kept it full of ice all week for us. We are taking it with again on our upcoming cruise.

They are referring to hard-sided coolers, not soft-sided. Think luggage-sized. If it can fit under the airport terminal scanner as a carry-on, they allow it. We brought our soft-sided rolling cooler we got from the Discovery Store on our Feb. '05 cruise on the Magic and had no problems at all. It was great -- less $$$ spent on alcohol and on the way back, it was used for all the stuff (DH calls it crap, I call it souveniers) we brought back.

Thanks... that is the perfect answer. We received a rolling softsided cooler from Royal Caribbean a couple of years back (Christmas cruise present). It definitely fits through the airport scanner as we saw about 600 passengers toting theirs back through the airport as carry ons!

Best part is we sized it and it comfortably fits 12 bottles of beer with some room to spare! Now I know where I'll be stopping before heading to the terminal. 14 days is a long time to be stuck without some good premium beers!

I took a small soft sided cooler. About the size of lunch box. It also doubled as my cosmetic carry-on.. After settleing in our cabin I had a nice size cooler. We would often stop and buy sodas or water on the Islands. Water is something I was worried about drinking so a six pack of bottled water was great for our beach trips. We always found a place to buy near ports. I never used it to take things on the ship unless we had a bottle of water left over.

Ditto on everything said so far. I WAS questioned about my soft-sided cooler I bought from Sam's Club but I said it was my carry-on. The luggage handler let it go. It also became the souvenir suitcase for the trip home. LOL

To ditto everyone else, I was on the April 2 eastern Magic cruise...I seen PLENTY of people with soft sided coolers...Also a few with a case of wine.....situated in their baby stroller....no it isnt enforced
