I took my two boys to Disneyland yesterday (first time bringing my 4-year-old and my 10-week-old together by myself!). Although there was a ton on street traffic around the resort due to the Natural Products Expo at the convention center, the parks were surprisingly low crowds. It was chilly, especially with the wind, but no rain and the sun was out.
We got a late start and didn’t enter the parks until 11:00, then had to immediately head to the Baby Care Center to change and feed the baby. To my surprise, at noon Pirates was only a 15-minute wait. Haunted Mansion was also 15 minutes although we just got an instant fast pass return for it. The biggest surprise was Peter Pan posting a 30-minute wait at 1:30 pm. We hopped in line and the actual wait was 24 minutes. We also rode the carousel twice in a row as a walk on. We did something nice for another guest on our first ride (my son very nicely albeit a little reluctantly gave up the horse he was on for her little girl), but then on the second ride had a disappointing experience with another guest...luckily, this is rare in my experience. Most people are very nice at DL.
I was chatting in line with another mom there with her two kids and she said they started at DCA that morning and everything was a walk on for them, including TSMM two times in a row. Sounds amazing!
At the end of the day, we went to concert our 5-day park hoppers (purchased from LMT) to annual passes. The lines at the ticket booths closest to World of Disney were so long but there were zero people in line at the booths over by Harbor security! We just walked right up to a window. I think people don’t know there are two sets of booths? The CM bridged the price for us on the LMT ticket, but it was the old price ($370) not the new price ($395). Interesting that they must be able to tell by the ticket since I bought them after the price increase. Even so, we saved a total of $104 dollars so I was happy.
Another interesting note about APs purchased this year. 2020 will be a leap year, which means there is a February 29. That means that any pass purchased between now and then will expire one year MINUS one day from the day you purchased. I bought mine 3/8/2019 and it will expire 3/7/2019.
