O.k. I need a gift for a cool, young Mom in her early 20's. I need something for her and her little girl...but what brands/items are hot right now? I know Crocs, Robeez, Baggallini (is the messenger "hip"?), UGG all of those names are kind of must haves...but what else? I know all you young Mom's (and some of us older ones;) ) could help! Thanks girls........

Kind of depends what she's into. If she's into the crunchy stuff, then those suggestions the pp gave would be good. If she's really into the designer trendy stuff, maybe a Coach wristlet or wallet, depending on your budget. I know that a lot of people are into that stuff right now. Gift cards are always great...really can't go wrong with that. Especially if you give them one to go out to eat.

As for the little girl, you can just get her something cute to wear from anywhere and just include the gift receipt! Girls are so easy when they're little, right? Who doesn't melt at the sight of a little one in a sundress or something?

Actually the Petunia Pickle Bottom and Skip Hop are more trendy. If she is a "crunchy" mom (or even if she's not, but you know she will be breastfeeding), the best gift I got was my Bebe au Lait nursing cover.

Actually, all the hip, cool moms I know have everything they need and really love when they get something for a charity. Why don't you buy them a flock of geese or a beehive from Heifer International? Give a Mother's Day donation (early?) to Opportunity.org which provides microloans to women in 3rd world countries? Donate to Susan B. Koman in their names.

If she is a hip, young mom she doesn't need another pair of Uggs.

If you're in the position to do this, I love getting the "we'll-watch-the-baby-and-here's-a-gift-card-to-dinner" present!

I also second the gift card to the mall. Let her pick what sounds best to her.

I think you could find anything unique and funky online. I live in Minneapolis and we have some "Hot Mama" stores with cool non-momish clothes/accessories... They have stores in IL and CO, but have a website too - wwwshopmamacom and another local store with a website that has very fun baby/kids clothes/toys/supplies is Pacifier -wwwpacifieronlinecom I need to check out that princess/frog site. thanks for the tip.

I have bought items at both stores, hot mama is more expensive, but it's also mama things, not kid things.

I LOVED the trumpette brand socks that looked like mary janes and ballet slippers when I got those as a gift for my girl. I also agree with Camno's Mama, a nice wristlet was something I liked with my newborn - could throw it in the diaper bag and it held the necessities for my new "purse" It was from a coach outlet... But that still may be more than you wanna spend. A pedicure is another personal favorite - even at a cheapy place :-) Esp. for a new mom!! Hey, socks for the little girls feet and paint for mommy's... ok must do some work now!

But to be completly honest, I think that a cool mama will appreciate anything you find for her and her little lady.

Great ideas ladies!! O.k....I must be totally out of the loop...what is a "crunchy mom"??:confused3

What age is the little girl? A one-year family membership to an area zoo or soemthing like that would be nice.
