My husband just returned from a long business trip and had a very nice experience I thought I would share...
When he boarded the last leg of his flight, exhausted and ready to be home already, he was understandably not excited to see a mother with a small baby in a Bjorn sitting in the seat next to him (even though we took DS on a plane when he was 10 weeks and a bunch of times since, its not that he's anti-child on a plane). (He happened to be in first class, but it could happen in any "class") He was on the inside and when he excused himself to be let in, the mother said "just be careful, there is a card for you on your seat." My husband looked at her curiously and confusedly and she told him it was for him, from the baby.
It is a cute little card that says "hello" on the front and written inside is "My name is __. I am 12 weeks old and this is my very first flight. I am usually a very smiley baby, but this might be a little overwhelming. I will try not to get upset, but please accept this Dunkin's treat as an apology in advance if I do! Happy Flying!" and there was a $5 Dunkin Donuts gift card in it.
He thought this was the sweetest thing, as did I when he relayed the story to me! What a great idea!!!
Apparently, the mother is also a frequent flyer for business and explained that she understood that first class is usually full of business travelers who just want to get to their destination. Either way, I love this idea!! $5 can go a long way!
