Hey - has anyone else noticed the cool showers (at least in the Master Bath) in the new BLT rooms. DH was playing with the interactive part of the dvcmember website regarding the rooms and they have one shower head off the wall like always and it looks like one of those round ones off the ceiling.

Maybe it's just me but it looks very cool and relaxing!

I wonder if AKV will be like that too????

As far as I recall, AKV does not have the rainfall shower head.

Yeah, we took the tour at SSR and the master bathrooms at BLT looked just heavenly. Actually, there was a divider between the master bathroom and master bedroom that you could actually open so you could view the balcony (and the fireworks from MK (if you have a MK view, that is). Although we'll probably never spend the extra points to have a MK view, I think that the rooms of BLT really are designed very well.

Agreed, with the exception of no sink in the restroom of the studio..........

Hmmmm, are you sure about that? When we did the tour of the model rooms, we actually toured a one bedroom and a studio and I don't recall there not being a sink in the studio bathroom. (However, admittedly, I was so awed by everything that I probably wouldn't have noticed that unless it was specifically pointed out to me). If that's the case, that is very bizarre. Where are we supposed to brush our teeth? To be sure not in the kitchenette sink... YUCK! :upsidedow

There is another sink, it's just on the opposite side of the galley across from the kitchenette. A lot of people don't like this set-up. I don't really care - I don't think there's as much "one person brushing their hair while another person is fixing food" overlap as others seem to.

the only dvc resort studio with a sink in the bathroom is OKW.

all the others have it in a separate area outside of the bathroom - it is across from the kitchennett.

what BLT did - is just push the kitchennett and bathroom sinks together on opposite walls.

the extra room went to the 1-bedroom.

the problem I see is little kids that need to stand on something to brush their teeth. Disney needs to put stools or something in the bathroom area of the kitchennett for them. the area is now to small to use one of the chairs.

love the new shelving in the kitchennett - the 1-bedroom kitchen has 2 of these things.

the person showing me the models (my guide is not onsite) - actually turned the water on - impressive.

also enough to make me go for a 1-bedroom instead of a studio.

I'm still on the fence about the studios. The set up in the models looks bigger than I thought it would be, but I think they might still be too small for us. That bathroom sink across for the kitchenette kind of bothers me. I'm not sure how practical that's going to be.

The one bedroom bathroom is really wonderful though! I do love the double showerheads! I really was impressed with their use of a pocket door between the master bedroom and bath as well. Having a pocket door there was a really good idea for saving space (and it looks cool too!) The entryway bathroom is also very well designed. :)

Probably my favorite design idea though is the entire kitchen setup. I like the way they designed the kitchen -its a lot more practical for me than the rectangular design.

Really glad I bought there!

Me too - I love the overall feel, and pocket doors are just plain smart! (I'm a huge fan of the decor - it has a real boutique hotel feel, which is exactly what I like when I travel.) The kitchen seems really nice - I especially like the stainless appliances - looks very sleek.

Really glad I bought there!

Me too! I was getting ready to be seriously envious of AKV and their "feature pool" but now that I've seen the pictures, I'm over that! ;) (Seriously, it doesn't look nearly as impressive as I think we were all led to believe it would be. I was underwhelmed.) I'll take my contemporary decor, rainfall shower head, bathtub view, walk to MK home any day! Sooooo glad we canceled our initial AKV purchase and waited for BLT!! (nothing wrong with AKV, BLT is just much better for us) :goodvibes

Yeah, us too. DH and I have always been the type of people who really don't get worked up about hotel accommodations (our criteria is more where a Disney hotel is located not what a room looks like) but I was so awed by the one bedroom that I told DH that we are going to feel truly spoiled in it because Disney just went all out with BLT. I can't wait for September so I can experience BLT for myself.

Me too. I usually got the studio at AKV and was planning on continuing my studio stays but that 1 bedroom unit at BLT is certainly worth the extra points. :)

yea got a studio for Sept & Nov this year.

but next year definitely thinking about that 1-bedroom for at least one visit. Of course that means less visits.:confused3

It's the 1-2 bedrooms that are tempting us so much about making a BLT add on. I've been the driving force for most of our add ons, but DH is being persistent. We haven't done it yet.

Bobbi:goodvibes

well for BLT they certain broke the mold - so no one can say anymore that all the studios look alike.:lmao:

really, really like the second bathroom in the 1-bedroom - so much more convenient than having to share the master bath.

If you look closely at the virtual tower of bay lake tower on the vacation club site they show how the shower is a dual shower.
