"cool 6th graders"--shopping trip

We made out really well today! First stop, the teen resale shop. We got 3 pair of jeans (one A&F, one AE, one Aero) one pair of khakis (aero) and three shirts (one AE and two aero)--totat $63!
Then we went to the mall and saw the retail prices of that stuff--ha ha ha ha ha! Just the 3 pair of jeans would have cost over $100--and do you know a store called "The Buckle" has Lucky brand jeans for $70!!!! What nutcase parents pay that???
At the mall bought one short sleeve shirt and one hooded sweatshirt at Aero, and then two 3/4 sleeve shirts at old navy (and a tank top on sale for $5).
Plus I found the Disney lunchbox DD#2 wanted from the catalog cheaper than the catalog--TDS has all lunch sets for $9.99! So now she has her Cinderella lunch box.

Glad you got things your daughter would like for a great deal...but don't you think this comment is rather harsh?? Just because it isn't in your budget or mindset to spend $70 on a pair of jeans for a teen, does not mean that those people who choose to spend their money in that manner are "nutcase parents."

Disney 845 you are right and I apologize to anyone who might buy jeans for that much. I guess I have been trained to bargain shop, but that doesn't mean people who want those jeans shouldn't get them. Sorry again.

Robin we have a terrific resale shop here too! I can't tell you how many pairs of Abercrombie shorts and jeans we have bought and the silly thing is THE TAGS ARE STILL ON THEM! Now I"m sorry but if I do choose to spend in retail shops for the clothes he dang sure is gonna wear them and they aren't going to end up at a resell shop for 90% off!

This is actually the first year John-Cole has cared anything about his hair and what he wears so I'm sure we will be spending the money soon. I know when I was in high school I had to have GUESS jeans...no choice about it! And yep my mom spent the money for them. I looked dang good in them too.......now my arm wouldn't fit in them
