I have McAfee privacy software. It blocks cookies unless I approve them. Sometimes the cookie attempts on this forum are interesting. I just clicked on a thread (the Chase Visa one) and a cookie attempted to download from "warnerbros.com." Where did that come from? I rejected it.

Earlier this week I traced a download attempt back to a company from New Jersey. I didn't save the info. The Mcafee traced it through Atlanta, NYC and Philly. I had never heard of the company.

Why do some threads attempt to store cookies?

(I'm posting on DVC cause they're the only 2 forums I read -- and it's where the cookies are trying to download from. I'll be out of town (HH) so may not get back to this thread till next weekend.)

Interesting. I have been having trouble with my machine blocking lots of stuff too, but I wasn't aware it was coming from the DIS. We have Norton and spybot. Spybot catches quite a few every week, and now I suppose they might be coming from here, since this is mostly where I am.

Looks like the WarnerBros cookie came from an image that another poster has in her signature- one of the Johnny Depp images from a Warner Brothers movie.
