ok yes, you may shoot me, Im planning ahead ;)

This years cookie exchange looks like its going to huge! The guest list is growing as I type and because everyone loved last years theyve told all of their friends. Ive been getting the "when is the exchange thsi year?" question already. (Its the 7th of December)

SO Im planning ( and saving!).

Ive been on Robinsweb and getting more and more ideas but I would love to hear what all you have done at exchanges that YOU really loved! Games, cookie recipes, you name it, I want to hear it!

oh, and yes, I have started a binder for it. :p its just what I *do* !

Hi Binny, I don't have any suggestions for you because it sounds like you have it together. I've been putting together a cookie exchange for about 12 years now. It got pretty big (for us) at one point with us having two groups of 12 each. What we do is each bake 12 dozen of 1 type of cookie and package the cookies in 12 packages with one dozen cookies in each package. Everyone then trades and takes home twelve different kinds of cookies but only had to bake one kind. We give prizes for the best tasting cookie and also for the best decorated package. One thing that has changed over the years is that we now go to a restaurant for dutch treat dinner and have a few drinks and girl time. After we've finished eating, we choose two guys in the restaurant to be our official tasters. They actually vote on the best tasting cookie. I would love you hear how your group works so I can get some new ideas for ours!

No advice, but I will be checking for my invitation in the mail! :teeth:

I have gone to several cookie swaps, and have had a great time! Maybe that is because of the wine and martinis. I think DH is catching on, though, because we toss most of the cookies I bring home, we just don't eat that many.

This is exactly what we do, minus the tasting test - because that would only cut down on our drinking time.party: :santa:

well several of the people will be from church so we will probably skip the martinis ;) but good idea nonetheless :)

I think I will do the pre packaged idea this year. I didnt like the open dish idea last year. Thanks!

Have you all tried the www.robinsweb.com ? she has some great ideas!

I missed it last year but my dd loved it. I am excited for it this year. I'm sure you are going to do a great job.

hi, not quite sure how this got moved over here.
Sorry Aries, It isnt a Dis Board exchange per say. Its a thing we do at our house. I was looking for ideas on what to do for our church exchange.

I was thinking about doing a cookie recipe exchange though if there is interest :)

I think it got moved over, Binny, because the title said "exchange"
We have a recipe exchange going on right now.....it first started as cookie recipes but now includes all holiday recipes.
