Please tell me what you think of this convo I had with a CM at Disney Travel Co. last night.
(As background, we got the 20/30/40% off PIN in March and booked BWI for October. Two nights of our stay were blacked out on the PIN (due to Columbus Day weekend) so the CM that made our reservation said to keep checking to see if those dates open up for a dicsount.)
I saw some posts yesterday about new PINs going around that seem to include our blacked out dates so I figured I'd give a call in to check if those nights had been un-blocked. The CM helping me said he was scrolling through screens of the different discounts available right now. At one point he says, "here's one that starts Oct. 3 but wait, when did you book?" (I said March) and he says, "oh this has to be booked in May." So I'm thinking maybe it's the "fairest of them all PIN" and hey, I'd be willing to cancel and rebook if it'd save me money -- so I ask him what the discount is and he says, "oh, it wouldn't save you any money."
Then he keeps looking and is kind of talking to himself and saying, "nope, that's a room only discount" and other things like that. (We're booked with room and one day of tix). Next he put me on hold for a good 10-15 minutes to comb through all the discounts and finally comes back and says there's nothing that would cover the blacked out days so stick with what you have.
So my question is -- do you think when the CM was scrolling through discounts, is it possible he was seeing all the PIN codes out there for other people but they aren't "attached" to my name? I guess I always assumed that when I called in they only saw what could apply to me (if it's a PIN). Not sure if it's worth even calling back. I don't want to be a nuisance
