Convincing the DH!

DH and I go to WDW yearly, it is our annual pilgrimage!
However, I am DYING to go to DL at least once and I am hoping for it to be for my 30th birthday in 2009.

Please tell me all the magical things that are DL that I might convince my DH as to why it's worth a shot......

1. It's the original!

2. Pirates, longer and better (IMO).

3. Everything is close, close, close. You have many of the same great rides in a smaller area and some different ones too. There is no need if you are just doing the disneyparks to worry about transportation or a rental car because everything is in walking distance including DTD.

4. California Grand, the only hotel in a disney park.

5. Indiana Jones!! (OK so its like dinosaur but way cooler.)

6. If just Disney is not DH's thing, there are great sports teams, restaurants, and hollywood a short drive away.

7. Matterhorn, California Screamin, New Orleans Square. . .

Also:

- no stinkin' busses.
- a more user friendly FP touring system.
- a more user friendly layout. (Walk to your hotel, DTD & DCA from DL)
- a more user friendly touring experience if you tour early in the day.
- Takes 3-4 days to enjoy....leaving a couple of days (or more) to enjoy LA &/or SD.
- Very low humidity & cooler weather from April-October than WDW.
- no stinkin' busses.

Growing up in KY, Florida was always closer that SoCal (in fact, my sis and her family are in WDW right now).

DH is from Redondo Beach and we visit his family all of the time. So we go to DL more now. I have to say that I like DL much more. I was in WDW for a work conference in 2001 and it was just so much more involved than DL. Catching busses, transfering here and there, walking miles and miles. Don't get me wrong, WDW is great. But DL is just so much more doable. And, you have more options close by instead of being in a park that is surrounded by, basically swampland. You can get good hotel deals within walking distance. There are grocery stores close by. There's a McD's across the street (as well as other restaurants). Some people like the WDW feeling of being totally immersed in it with little non-Disney stuff around. I like the feeling of DL because you can do so much more in less time.

Disneyland is the only park in the world to have Walt Disney's personal touch. WDW is wonderful, but Disneyland is where it all began.

The DLR only has about 9 fewer attractions than WDW, yet is much closer together. While Disneyland itself is smaller than the MK, it also has a lot more attractions than it's younger sibling.
