My fiance' and I are getting married on 7/7/07. We plan on waiting about a month and a half to go on her honeymoon in late Aug. or Sept. so she will be 21. We are deciding between Vegas which she has been to but not able to gamble, drink etc. I am 24 and have never been there myself and think it would be fun. However, my heart is kind of set on going to DisneyWorld. I haven't been there since '00 and love the place and want to go back real bad. I know that we would both have a blast there, but I think she thinks that there won't be enough "21 year old stuff" to do there. Convince her to go to DisneyWorld.......Discuss!!!

Why not spend about 3-4 days at Disneyland, and go to Vegas too? Vegas is not all that far a drive from DLR. That way, you get Disney, and Vegas in.

We are doing the same thing

We are getting married this Saturday and goign to Disney 9/14.

There is a lot of over 21 stuff to do Pleasure Island for one. Wine tasting or if you want drining around the world in epcot. There are also carriage rides and wishes illumiations/cruises they are not really arent over 21 things but are nice homeymoon things.

Dude - no matter what anyone tells you, it's *her* wedding. Let her win on the honeymoon thing. Just plan another trip to Disney for the two of you.

And personally, <flame suit on> I think Vegas makes for a better honeymoon experience than Disney. Especially that time of year when you can do much more indoors in Vegas.

My DH (fiance at the time) was a WDW fan and I had never been. I really didn't see what the fuss was about. I mean, we were both adults!

There is PLENTY to do! Nice restaraunts, PI, spa treatments, Cirque, etc, etc.

Let me just say since he talked me into going the first time, we have been back every year since, this year twice!

I usually hear the "younger crowd" say they would much rather go to Vegas. But I have also heard people say that Disney would be a blast. Or things like "we went to Vegas for our honeymoon and it was fun, but you can go there any time for a few days. Go to Disney, it will be great" I need help convincing her that she would have just as much fun in Orlando at Disney than in Vegas.

We considered Disney for our honeymoon, but decided against it. We thought it would be too much time "on the go" and preferred a slower vacation for our honeymoon (we went to Maui).

We went to WDW for our 1st anniversary instead.

Normally I might say WDW, but this is a honeymoon and dude....do you really want to convince your woman to go somewhere where she does not want to go...uh, I think NOT!

She is 21 and wants to experience being 21. I don't blame her!

The best trip my husband of 28 years and I have taken was to WDW last fall. Our first trip without our kids too.

I can't think of a finer place to go for a honeymoon, honestly.

Have you shown her information about Pleasure Island? She might enjoy the nightlife and maybe the 21 factor might be a selling point. Has she seen Cirque?

If you really want to gamble I believe there are ships off in the ocean not far from Orlando where you can do so.

You might try asking her to "let you show her your favoite place" on earth. Let her help in the planning and see if you can get her here to speak with us. When she sees how much we all love it she might want to go too.

We are both Disney fans but we opted to NOT do Disney for our honeymoon. We wanted something more relaxing, where we didn't feel like we were throwing money out when we didn't hit the parks.

So, we saved tons of money instead and did Vegas - it was WONDERFUL. We lounged by the pool, wandered through the hotels, did a little gambling, ate great food, and just relaxed.

We hit Disneyworld 4 months after we were married and every year after that. We do not regret going to Vegas for our honeymoon instead - it was just what we wanted after a stressful wedding

(btw - with the $ we saved by doing Vegas instead, we afforded 2 more vacations our first year of marriage, included Disney and a long weekend in NOLA for our 1 year)

First place DH ever took me was WDW. Our money was *totally* wasted. We'd take a look at each other just after entering the gate at MK, then nearly run all the other guests down rushing to get back to our hotel room. (sorry )

Why not try for a land and sea thing? Do a 3-4 day cruise and then a few days at WDW. The cruise can be all the romantic stuff that she wants and then Disney can be the fun stuff with romance thrown in.
