Convince Me - AK over MK

Go with your gut. With a 3 year old, I'm sure you'll be spending more park time at Magic Kingdom.

It’s a solo trip, so you get to do whatever you want without having to answer to anyone. If you want to go to Animal Kingdom, go to Animal Kingdom. I’d be sure to get a Simba Sunrise at Tamu Tamu because it’s my favorite.

...Also, since it’s a solo trip you could always add a day or a park hopper if you really wanted to.

You guys are killing me. Lol!! I was pretty sure that I was going to go to AK, and just today I decided I had to go to MK instead. And then I read through these and thought "no, no, AK"

Pre-baby, I traveled solo to Disney fairly often. I haven't been alone since she was born and I've been trying hard to justify the extra cost - not only of an additional day but of a park hopper. I meant for this to be a quick, cheap trip with just a park or two, but mostly relaxing at the pool - then quickly realized that the way I really relax is being in the parks, watching people, listening to the rides and the music.

I don't know what I'm going to do. I've got 2 weeks to figure it, but I'm still leaning heavily towards AK. Thanks to all for your perspectives!!

If you can budget for a Park Hopper, I’d go for that. I love hopping; a year ago, with the elevated crowds of Princess Marathon, I did a three park in one day Hop. Just did the things I wanted. HS, EPCOT, and MK. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but I had a great time. No rushing, either. I was waiting for a high BG number to be called (after 6 pm), so had time to spare. (And had to be inside HS around 7 am to log on for BG). Got to ride Skyliner and Monorail between parks. What a great day. Bonus - was using $32 park Hopper ticket bought about 15 years ago.
