Converting Room Only To Package

We have AAA room-only rate booked for next year. I think we want to make it a package. AAA agent says she can take over the reservation. How will the deposit work? Will we get the $$$ back and then re-pay the package deposit? I'm trying to figure out timing so we don't get hit w/ the new charge this visa statement and the credit next.

the deposit just moves. so you only have to pay the extra.

but ask your AAA agent - she has the control (fairly certain)

It didn't work that way for me. They had to credit back my credit card with the room only deposit and then charge the $200 for the package deposit. I also got a new confirmation number.
