I have to go along with honoring and not worshiping. Apparently, we have a pope to thank for celebrating her assumption. Might check the last two paragraphs especially...Confession is good for the soul is the saying. In reality, going to confession,
in the Catholic faith, absolves you of your sin. Your slate is wiped clean.
Praying the penance just means you're sorry. Also, I've read where it's good for a person psychologically because you're not holding onto things that eat at you,eg, lying,cheating,adultery,etc.
Mary did die. When we say she was assumed into Heaven body and soul, we mean that her body,incorrupt went to Heaven.
We do not worship Mary. We honor her and we love her as the mother of Christ.

With DS in their school, it was encouraged to complete a short worksheet as a family after Sunday's mass at home. There were maybe three or four questions related to the readings, and the kids handed them in at school. It was great for putting the readings into terms the kids could understand.
Not nearly the support at the church either compared to our parish in FL.
