We have "after 2pm" tickets since hubster will be in town for meetings, can I make an in-park reservation for earlier than this time and be allowed in? Or can I only have reservations after 2?

From the ticket sticky on the Theme Parks board...

There are three types of Convention tickets. These are only available to people who are attending conventions held on WDW. Normally purchase is via a web link provided by Disney through the convention's web site for pre-purchase, or sometimes at the convention itself. Verification of Convention attendance is required.

"After 2:00" allows admission to one park per day after 2:00pm. These tickets may not be upgraded.

"After 4:00" allows admission to one park per day after 4:00pm. These tickets may not be upgraded.

"Multi-day MYW Convention Base Ticket" is about a 10% savings from the regular MYW prices and includes one WPF&M visit.

Do you already have the special convention tickets in hand? If so, that's what you will be using for your trip, but if you don't have them yet, you might want to explore different ticketing options if you haven't already done so.

What are you going to do while your husband is at the meetings? There are lots of things you can do without a park admission (such as exploring the resorts, eating in the resort restaurants, and shopping) if a different ticket option is not possible.

My husband will be attending a convention this year and we were offered the opportunity to purchase the after 2 and after 4 tickets also, but found that park hoppers will fit our needs better. We are going to arrive several days before the convention and stay after it is over, so we are not just planning for convention days. I will be doing some park touring as well as exploring other resorts while he is busy. I will do some things by myself that he doesn't care to do. I have the convention schedule so I know when he is available and when he is not.

We're actually gonna hang by the hotel pool and do some shopping during the mornings. I like to see "the other side of Orlando" as well as Disney.
