Convention! UPDATE!

I am a little frustrated, but it's noone's fault.
Our national convention for work is in Orlando this year. I figured I could just rent a studio or whatever, wherever for the weekend, I have plenty of points, so I could do whatever was available.
DUH!
It's during Food and Wine. Now I want to whine! It doesn't look like I can get ANYTHING at all.
Can you waitlist for a non-existing reservation? Just hoping someone changes their mind about going. (And NO I don't want anything bad to happen to anyone, maybe someone will just change their mind.)

Why not book a backup cash reservation, maybe at a value resort, like POP Century? That way if your wait list doesn't come through, you'll still have a room. Just make sure to cancel your waitlist, if it doesn't come through, before the cancellation date for the cash ressie, so you don't wind up with a cancellation penalty on the cash reservation.

Last week I was able to book 7 nights during Food & Wine (1BR at SSR, 10/26-11/2) for my folks. I was pleasantly surprised. Do at least try the waitlist!

Ohmigsoh! I know how lucky I was. After just deciding to do this yesterday, and finding out there was nothing availabe, I called this morning to waitlist.
THEY HAD A 1-bedroom villa at SSR for my dates!
I almost fell off my chair!
Nov 7-9!
There is definitely some pixie dust floating around!

My company doesn't pay for anything.
I'm a Realtor, which equals independent contractor to them.
