I know this isn't necessarily 'budget' related but I find so much knowledge here so I'm starting here :)

We have 3-day convention tickets. We were supposed to go this past April b/c my dh had a conference there. His work changed some things that would affect the amount of time we had so I decided not to go. Disney allowed us to keep our tickets beyond the conference dates, and just said they had to be used by the end of the year. Dh & I will be there in two weeks. I am wondering now if we can either add a day, and if so, at what rate OR if we could apply the tickets to the purchase of AP's.

Anyone know? I know they say you cannot upgrade or change convention tickets, but they not only extended our dates, but changed our 'after 2pm' into full day (at a price, of course).

I was at a conference at Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim last year and I had the option of getting conference tickets and I was curious too.

I'm not too certain about extending your tickets, but the full day convention tickets and twilight tickets are eligible to upgrade to annual pass. I don't know if it works for WDW AP too if it's WDW convention tickets.

You need to also purchase the convention tickets before arriving I believe. I remember at the convention there was someone who didn't and couldn't get the offer. So maybe you can't extend the tickets?

Back when we decided to not have me go, we both called multiple times and asked if we really could use the tickets at a later date. Each CM said the same thing. It's an 'unpublished policy' they have in which they allow the tickets to be used within the calendar year since they understand things happen. And then we called back later, and upgraded two days that were purchased at an 'after 2pm' rate and we made those full day tickets. So, maybe?? Sounds like I just need to call though, and ask.

Even if you call, you may be given incorrect information. Be prepared for that.

Cause you would normally upgrade to AP's once onsite, correct? So, no matter what they tell me on the phone, it's what the CM allows once there?

Yes, basically.

You can't ever trust a phone CM about anything. Sometimes they give you accurate information and sometimes they don't.

Sometimes CMs have power to make magic happen, and sometimes they don't. It really will come down to what they are able to do for you once you are there. Fingers crossed! :)
