Convention May 4th

I'm visiting DLR from May 1st through the 4th, so I'm leaving last day (friday) to see the Fireworks. Somebody suggested to look into the Anaheim Convention Center, so I did and found a huge convention (30,000 people) May 4th-6th. Will this affect significantly the crowds on that friday??

It's hard to tell. There are always conventions going on. Unless they are geared towards kids (dance competitions, cheer, etc) I don't think it'll make a huge effect. But if it bringing in people all over the country for a "business trip" they may have their families tag along for a once in a lifetime trip to Disneyland.

This is very true^^^^. Conventions generally only effect the convention hotels, not DLR.
