Looking for a good convention hotel.
Tried the Airport Marriott and the Downtown Marriott both were fine, but want something else.
The last few years we have been at the Florida Mall Hotel former Adams Mark. Terrible experience at that hotel.

So looking for those who have been to a conference recently and the good and bad experience you might have had at an Orlando hotel.

I haven't stayed at a conference here - but the Renaissance hotel across from SW - is a convention hotel.

It is very nice.

It is expensive - the only time they give is a price break is for the holidays - when business travelers won't be using it.

also their new resort

plus this one - it is very close to Wdw

there are several hotels at WDW that do conventions
Dolphin/Swan (your best bid money wise), Cont, BC/YC, BW, CSR (the next pricewise)

How about the Gaylord Palms? I have both attended a convention there and stayed there for a weekend, and it was great on both occasions!

Caribe Royale has a convention center. Gaylord Palms, S/D and CSR are also good choices. PBH hotel by Universal also has a convention center but I'm sure it'll be over your budget.

You really have to call. We have no idea what kind of meeting rooms you need.

Peabody and Rosen are major conference locations and they are next to the convention center.

Should mention that I was at the Peabody for a conference in March. It was very nice with good convention services (i.e. business center, signage, etc.). My colleagues and I had very positive experiences there.

I was at the ROsen and the rooms are dated and the staff was not friendly, except those at the front desk were friendly.

The Peabody is really, really nice. It would be my first choice, due to its proximately to the OCC, and the level of services it provides.

We are staying at the Peabody in August. Got an UNBELIEVABLE rate on expedia for this luxury hotel. We have not stayed here but most of the comments I read were very positive. If you can still get the great rate from Expedia even better. Plus this hotel is directly across International Drive from the Convention Center.
