We are staying nights at a Good Neighbor hotel before our October HawIi cruise on DCL I was wondering if there was a convenience or grocery store within walking distance to pick up some adult beverages and anything else we might need before spending 6 days at sea.
Thanks

There's a 7-11 at the corner of Harbor and Katella. Just north of there is ABC Store. (I think)
Stay away from the little 'shops' at some of the hotels,,,waaaay over priced.

There is a Target about a mile south of DLR on Harbor. If it is too far to walk or if you don't have a car, the ART shuttle stops at the hotels across the street (OC Hyatt, Sheraton Garden Grove, Embassy Suites, etc.). The 7-11 is much closer to DLR, but the Target should have more variety of items.

Wonderland Market is on Katella and has a nice assortment.

As mentioned, 7-11 on the corner of Harbor and Katella. There is crown liquor for a greater selection of "adult" beverages on orangewood and harbor. I can't remember the name of it (liquor market?), but I believe there is a liquor store opposite the 7-11 on Harbor as well.

AKA Wonderland Liquor, it's on Katella and Walnut St, south of DLH. Not sure where OP is staying, so this might be closer or further away than the other options. Pretty sure the ABC Market next to 7-11 has a good selection.

We stayed at the Hotel Menage in June. It is at the corner of Harbour & Ball just north of DLR. There is a convenience store across the street that sells beer.

We are staying at America's Best Inn. It's supposed to be within walking distance of DL.

For the Target that is south on Harbor, do they have a decent selection of grocery items?

How feasible is it to get a cab to/from that location? We are staying at FFI in early Sept., and debating not having a rental car, and just doing the shuttle from SNA. However, I have a young child, and find I always need something on the road, and we'll definitely want to get some breakfast food, milk, and snacks for the room. Just wondering if cabbing to/from Target is feasible, or if we should look at a day rental, or just keeping the car for our entire stay.

Thanks for any advice!

Yes..when we stayed at DLH found Wonderland to be close..also closer..I think from GCV? The ABC would be better from the Harbor hotels. Both are just fine.

Fyi if anyone is wondering, it took us 6 minutes (no kids in tow, they stayed in the room with our friend) to walk to Wonderland from the GCH. Super easy. Just walk past PPH, turn right on Katella and its down the street.

We brought a duffle and managed carrying 4 bottles of wine just fine, along with other groceries (we were about to go on DCL and they let you bring your own alcohol:)

Wonderland is really close!

So is the wonderland liqueur store and 7-11 right by each other? We are staying at the DLH with no car and need to buy milk, bottled water, cheese and beer/wine. How far of a walk would this be?

It seems like I saw a liquor store across the street from 7-11... In the same strip mall as Subway and that pizza place. I *could* be wrong, but don't think I am, because I remember thinking "Hmmm, I wonder if I could have a few drinks and not get a hangover tomorrow?" when DD was particularly challenging at DLR one day, and I wouldn't have thought about that unless (1) it was a REALLY challenging day, and (2) I saw a liquor store, because the 7-11 wouldn't carry stuff for martinis :)

To my knowledge, 7/11 is at the corner of Katella and Harbor. Next to it is the ABC Market. Both have beer and wine. 7/11 doesn't have hard alcohol, if I remember correctly.

Wunderland is on Katella east of West St, near Wlanut, near the Best Western Pavillions.

Wunderland is probably closer to the DLH. You would need to walk out to Disneyland Drive, walk south to Katella, cross Katella, turn right, and go one LONG block. I'm guessing 15-20 mins each way?

More like 5-10 minutes each way. You'd walk south from DLH through the parking lot that is between DLH and Katella, cross at Walnut, and it's right there.

Wonderland is not just a liquor store..it has plenty of regular food items, milk, cereal, lunch stuff etc. The card I have for them also says Free Delivery, but I don't know if that is still the case. I like to pick out my own stuff though so won't do that. Phone number is 714-535-0127
