That way you could combine the 17pts from June with 50pts from March to book one single night...right??
(snip)
MS does let you do something like this already. At the 7 month window, you can combine points from different resorts to book a single night, but is this only true if all the resorts have the same contract number...right??
yes, you could
transfer 17pts from June UY into your March UY account, in order to book that last night at 67pts.
however, that isn't exactly what i had in mind when i used the word "combine".
the second thing you mentioned, where MS can combine points from different resorts (but SAME UY) to book a single night. now that is
truely combining points from different contracts.
if you take a look at your Points Activity Statement, you will see that MS does NOT transfer any points between contracts.
for example, i booked a ressie at BWV using my OKW contract AND my BWV contract. it is 2 nights, and costs 46pts.
MS deducted 45pts from my OKW contract. and then they deducted 1pt from my BWV contract.
there is NO transfer activity between contracts.
so that is what i meant by you cannot combine points between the March UY and June UY.
the only way you could effectively "combine" points is if you transfer points from one contract to another.
and actually, in my example, if you're gonna be doing a transfer anyway... you might as well transfer 50pts from the March UY into your June UY contract.
that way you have the full 200pts in your June UY contract, and you can keep your entire ressie as 1 single continuous ressie for all 6 nights.
the main reason i used the 5-night 133pts ressie from June contract, linked with 1-night 67pts ressie from March contract, is because i somehow got the impression that MS prefers to do things that way. and that they seem to discourage transferring points around.
