Contract question "third party materials"

In the contract section "promotion; third party materials", how does that work? I see a lot of people on here using Disney images for their newsletters, invitations, programs, etc. Is that allowed under the contract? Does that only apply to authentic Disney invitations?

Am I allowed to use an invitations vendor and use the Disney name? How could I make an invitation without using Disney's name if we're having a Disney wedding??

I'm pretty sure this clause is more to prevent you from, say, acting like you're affiliated with Disney because you had a Disney wedding, or promoting yourself using Disney's trademarks. The second part, I believe, is to prevent you from, like, having a corporate sponsor of your wedding and putting their trademark all over stuff at your wedding. Basically, I think it's kind of an obscure clause designed to prevent something none of us would ever think of doing.

Like you said, plenty of brides use Disney imagery in their invites and paper goods. Disney's not going to keep you from doing that.

But if you're still worried, ask your planner and tell us what s/he says!

Lurkloo is correct. You may use the images for personal use, just not commercial use, ie. to make a profit.

Thank you SO much for the replies. My DF and I were so worried about this but now we feel better. We thought that's what it was in reference to but we weren't entirely sure so I freaked out.

I did ask the planner but I got an obscure response. She basically just said that if a vendor is authorized to sell Disney invitations you "should" be fine. Oh well. XD
