I dropped our SSR contract into the FedEx box yesterday. What happens next? Will DVC contact us and say everything's ok or nothing til closing in June?

TIA!

If you've financed, next you will get a letter that says if you've been approved. I'm a new member so I've just done all of this, too. Then at some point after that you'll receive your plastic membership cards, but they are usually slow to arrive. I bought into DVC the first week on Dec and don't have them yet, but my guide says not too worry, they're on the way.

:flower1:

I tried to find exact dates for you quickly but I don't have them off the top of my head right now. To give you an idea, I bought in to DVC over the phone on the 1st Tues in Dec. I think it was 12/5. After I sent in all my stuff, I got a letter 12/22 (because like a big dummy I got the deed notarized instead of the mortgage) and had to go do it again. So, the day after Christmas I got it notarized correctly, mailed it that day, and I believe it was about a week later that I got the letter saying I was approved.

No, you're not a pain at all. I still ask a bunch of questions! That's what we're all hear for , so ask away!!

I'm very anxious as well....We're waiting on our SSR approval & a ROFR ..... and I swear, I keep hearing the Jeopardy "we're waiting for your answer" music in my head.....

Doo dee doo doo, doo dee doo........... :hourglass

Remember alot of us had to go through the same thing you are going through so we know what it's like so don't worry, ask all the questions you need to ask. When it's all done remember to stop by the DIS and let us know so we all get the chance to "Welcome You Home".

We aren't financing-taking another route--we sent our FedEx package off last Friday and hope to send the balance of what we owe in a couple of weeks---any idea what will happen in the iterim or will we not hear anything until they get the rest of our money? I too am new at this and can't say that I am not nervous! We bought at SSR--I've been searching through this website looking for comments and thankfully, I've found some good/encouraging comments--about as many negative statements---that's a little scary---any help that you guys could offer to a "newbee" would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! Thanks!

We submitted our contract on Feb 15 and received confirmation on Feb 28 that it passed the ROFR. Now we are awaiting a closing date. I don't know the timeframe for a new purchase from DVC.

Just finished with the purchase of one of my resales. After all was said and done, on 2/14/05 I rec'd the paperwork to sign and the amt. to send in.
Which I did that day (faxed the signed paperwork and wired the money).
On 2/25/05 I recived in the mail a packet from WDW that had my new member handbook and vacation planner. I called WDW and asked about making ressies and they asked some info and gave me my membership number and made my ressies then. I started the inital process on 1/11/05 and was done with it by 2/14/05. Still no membership cards or whatever in the mail, but have my ressie and that's what matters at this point!

We aren't financing either. I sent off our FedEx package last week. Since we bought so many points, we split it into 3 contracts (one for each of our children). I am paying each contract separately on our Disney Visa (to get the points). Each time we pay one, I'll pay off the CC and then pay the next contract. It'll take two weeks to do it this way, but at least I'll end up with all those points!

I'm nervous, but excited as well. So far, I've been very happy with the service we've received. Go ahead and call the quality assurance number if you have any questions. I spoke with someone who was just terrific. Good luck!

How did you get to charge your purchase? I wanted to do that (so I could get those 'points' on my credit card) and was told I couldn't. I also paid cash.

When we bought in in June '03, I used my Disney Visa card - for the WHOLE purchase. Got us some nice points. Since my card was new, we had 6 months of 0 % financing on purchases. We paid down some, then I did a balance transfer to another CC that had 0 %. We kept paying minimum payments or a little more and when that 0 % offer ran out, we did another transfer to another CC with a 0% offer and that is where we stand now - until the beginning of '06, when we will have it all paid off, or probably do another balance transfer. :cool1: :earboy2:

We bought in Aug. '04 and have a March '05 use year. We are financing through Disney. We just got in the mail one week ago a letter/statement saying our deed was recorded on 2/17/05 and we shoud have our recorded documents in approx. 90 days. Our first monthly loan payment is due on 5/15/05, electronic debit.
