continuing reservations question....

Okay, this is confusing....

If we end up taking a flight that lands at MCO at 11:30 p.m., it's not likely that we'll check in at POP until after midnight. And, if we end up having continuing reservations because of a package which we won't want to start on that first day, we'll have to check in again in the morning. So, my question is...if we originally check in after midnight, will we still have to check in again in the morning, or will we be able to check in for the second reservation when we first get there? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Thanks.

No you will have to check in that morning for your continuing reservation. They reset the computers around 6AM for that day.

i think i'm getting what you're asking.....:headache: lol

the problem i can see is that the identical person would be checked into in 2 rooms at the same time. that is where the 2nd ressie might be blocked.
suggestion (& explain to the FD what you are doing, of course:) ):
~ check into first room as normal, using an adult in your party as the primary, & of course listing the rest of your party
~ after midnight, check into the 2nd room using yourself as the primary (if the system still won't allow your name b/c you're on the 1st ressie, just change your first name on the day one ressie to read your first name initial or a nickname)

y'know, i enjoyed that almost as much as one of the "getting out of room with no doors" games :lmao:

ETA: ah, well. i wasn't sure of the time the syatem started the "new day", (i thought ppl had stated they did check in prior to 6AM  ), so just ignore my mental exercise. i enjoyed doing it anyway ;)

No they wouldn't be two people checked in at the same time. Until 6 AM or so you would be on the previous nights reservation.

Wow. I don't understand the question or the responses.

Okay, for Rylee :) I'll use myself in this example, since I don't know the OP's vacation dates.

I have a package reservation starting September 22.

I will actually be arriving at the resort about 1 AM on the 22nd.

The (any) hotel starts its new day - for checking in, checking out, accounting, etc. - around 6 or 7 AM. This is when guaranteed reservations from the previous day are no longer valid.

I do not want to pay for the package for a night I'm not going to arrive in time to 'do' anything except sleep.

I make an additional reservation at that hotel, for the 21st (and let them know I'll be arriving late, although my payment-in-full for that night holds the room for me until 6 AM or so).

I check in for my one-night, room-only reservation at 1 AM. I remind the Desk Clerk that I have a continuing reservation for the next day, and ask to keep the same room if at all possible.

At any time between 7 AM (new accounting day) and 11 AM (check-out time), I must go back to the Front Desk to check out-and-in. Ideally, just I need to go - everyone else can remain in the room, or go swimming, or have a meal, or whatever. But it IS possible we'll have to change rooms.

Thanks everyone. 6-7 a.m. reset of the day does make more sense than midnight. Oh well.

Maybe we'll get lucky and won't have to change rooms....If we do, I hope our bags on DME can keep up with us!
