I don't normally look through the Membership Rewards catalogue when it comes randomly, but yesterday I browsed and noticed some fine print.

For years we've used our card to accumulate rewards that we then transfer to our Onepass account. We're up to 80,000 in Onepass and need to transfer 30,000 from our rewards account. Enough for two roundtrip tickets to Europe(with additional fees, of course )

As of 10/2011, though, Continental won't take them anymore. If you have reward points now, you can transfer them(for a fee, of course ) up until 10/2011 and once Onepass owns them, you can't lose your miles. (At least this is what my CS rep said when I called)

Just thought I'd post it so no one loses those hard earned miles:thumbsup2. I personally don't want to have to waste those points on a $50 gift card for 5000 points when 5000 points equals 5000 Onepass miles.

You can also now transfer your OnePass miles into United MileagePlus miles.

Wow...I didn't know that. I did see somewhere that there would be "changes" to the One Pass program in October of 2011, so I guess that's a part of it.

Just last weekend we moved points from Amex to Continental and booked two RT reward flights to Paris, so I'm glad we got in under the gun.

This information has been around for a while. Continental is severing its relationship with American Express and focusing its efforts on its cards with Chase.

All points that you want to move over to mileage accounts must be completed by September in order to keep them.

Glad you saw this when looking through your material.

ahhh.....Paris! How was your experience with booking the flights with your rewards? We're wanting to fly into Germany this time and I'm just curious about what to expect when booking with rewards.

I just wish that companies would be a little more proactive in telling cardholders what's coming. Now I've just got to get in gear with moving my rewards over.
