so i just went online to verify my flight information and apparently, when i booked my flights to disney, i TOTALLY neglected to read the fine print that i have to pay for checked baggage now. the site is not super clear to me so can someone please help me out?

i am traveling with my girlfriend, and we will each have a small carry on with necessary stuff. and we will also each have one large piece of luggage(under 50 pounds.) my question is.....do we have to pay for the checked luggage since each of us will only have one piece checked? and if we do what is the cheapest possible way to do it? im sorry if i sound cheap, but at this point, i am. lol. i appreciate any help as i literally leave in about 15 hours.

Yes, you will have to pay baggage fees for any checked bags on Continental unless you are in an exempt group, which would include elite frequent fliers, first-class or full-fare (Y class) coach passengers, passengers paying their fare with a Continental Chase credit card, active military service members and dependents, etc. Assuming you are none of those, you can pre-pay your baggage fees online and save a couple of bucks over what you'd pay at the airport--$18 per bag vs. $20 per bag. You will pay more than $20 if you use a curbside check-in location.

so its 18 for my bag, and 18 for my gfs bag? no ways around that? i hate hidden fees, but yes, i am aware that it is my fault for not reading ALL the fine print.

well is the math right at least? 18 for my bag, 18 for hers? is that how it works? and also, if i do it online, do i have to print anything and take it with me?

Yes, for your first bag it's 18 doing it on continental.com it's 18 for her first bag via the same way.

describes it very cleary. USA to USA 1st bag per person 18 online 20 at airport
2nd bag per person 27 at home 30 at airport.

As far as what you get when you pay online, I'm sure it will give you a receipt that ties it to your reservation. Just make sure to do one for you and one for her to save. Dont do 2 for you and none for her..

And remember (unless I'm missing something) this will be for one way only. So you will need to pay it both there and back.

Nevermind. I went directly to the Checked Baggage Fees page, stupidly thinking that's where I would find the information. It's on the the page marked Checked Baggage.

yea its definitely gonna be 36 each way. lol. 72 extra dollars. o well, just my luck i guess. thanks a bunch for all your help:)
