Hi

On my continued search for reasonably priced flights for Christmas. I came across one from Continental Airlines.

I know they code share with Virgin, but does anyone know who else? The flight details show that it's a Direct Flight from Gatwick to Orlando Int leaving at 11.15am . The return flight leaves Orlando Int at 18.05.

These times don't tie in with Virgin's timetables, so I wa wondering who the flight might be with. The flight codes are CO8247 & 8248.

Has anyone flown a 'code share' with Continental before.

Any help on this would be most welcome

Thanks

Maxine

Hi

I always travel with Continental, Glasgow to Orlando, via Newark.

Our flight no's start with CO and it is always a Continental plane.

If you go onto their website www.continental.com there is information on their partners etc and if you do a flight search (prices are always dearer on the website) the details of the plane will show whether it is a Continental plane or one of their code share partners.

Hope this is of some help.

Im prety sure the Orlando routing is no longer a Virgin codeshare, but I could be wrong?

Thanks Helen

It is showing as a Vrigin code share.

Has anyone done a Continental code share with Virgin out of Gatwick. Do Continental have their own check in desk do you use the Virgin desk?

Hi Maxine

Not sure where you looked to see where the times didn't tie in with Virgin's flights but they definately <i>are</i> the Virgin ones 11.15 from Gatwick is VS027 (the one I always take if I can) and 18.05 from Orlando is VS028.

Continental also have their own check-in desk (I did this when I used them for a Virgin code-share into Newark about 18 months ago). If you are facing the Virgin check-in desks then head right, there is a small corridor to another check-in room which is just Continental's area - you can't miss it :)

Hi Maxine.

We have done the Continental code share before. It's usually an excellent deal as it was much cheaper than with Virgin when we did it.

I honestly can't remember if we booked in at the Continental or Virgin desks, I think it was Virgin.
After that it is just the same as if you booked with Virgin.
If you get a chance book it fast as they don't hang around for long.

Hi Maxine,

We got a fantastic deal for a Continental Codeshare on Virgin Atlantic for this October half-term and I contacted Virgin to ask some questions.

I was told that it is exactly the same procedure as being a normal ticketed Virgin traveller. You can check-in at the Virgin Atlantic desks in Gatwick and Orlando and you can make use of Twilight Check-In facilities at London Gatwick and Downtown Disney check-in in Florida.

Go for it!

Richard. :)

The use of Twilight check in sounds a great bonus.

I found the flights on Opodo, but I get an error message when I try to book. I e-mailed their Customer Service and was told it was too early to book. I e-mailed them again and asked when would the flights be available to book. They replied saying June!!!!!

I emailed back - politely saying 'I don't think so' I then got a reply saying March

I guess I just need to keep trying
