No you are not assured a view of Magic Kingdom, it will only be a request and requests are not guaranteed.

The only way to guarantee the MK view at the CR is to book a king room 14th FL CL. There are only two and they both face the MK.

If that's what you want, definately add your request to your ressie. They are wonderful at CR and will do all they can to get your requests taken care of. The view is AWESOME!

Is the MK view very close? I would like to stay there but I've seen pictures that make the MK look very far away and that you are really get a great viw of parking lot. I don't want to be disappointed and wishing I had a lake view instead.

You can't throw a rock off your balcony and hit the castle, but it's close enough that you're not thinking "what is that building in the distance?"

If I remember right, you only see the parking lot if you're sitting on the balcony. From the room, I don't think you can see much of the lot due to the hotel's A-frame design. You can also see the Grand Floridian and part of the lake with a MK view.
