has anyone stayed in the contemprary resort lately? if so what did you think?

Obvioulsy when you see my user name it's easy to tell the Contemporary is my favorite Resort and I can say my family and I have stayed there a lot of times, so here is what we like about it. Their renovated rooms are amazing, great restaurants, the Tower Magic Kingdom View is the best view in all of WDW, spectacular stores, having the walkway to the Magic Kingdom, Monorail access and every room having a built in computer with free internet access. I think CR Resort Fan said it all! The CR rocks! Prime location, huge and great rooms, and one of my SUPER FAVS Chef Mickey's! And we all can't forget the monorail!!! and besides the faq thread check out the photo thread for some awesome pics:

the new restaurant in the CR just opened, and the concourse steak house has closed.

I agree with above. We stayed there in May 07 and loved it. Love the new rooms, the location and convenience. We had a first floor room in the South garden wing and loved the little patio. We also stayed at the Poly in Oct 07 and I when we return it will be to the Contemporary. I liked it better. Good Luck.

My family had a short stay at the CR last month. We stayed in the Garden Wing and absolutely loved it. The room was great, beds were ridiculously comfortable, staff was fantastic. Walking to MK was such a nice perk. We were looking for the ideal 4-day trip and we got it.

We stayed at the CR in '06 and '07 - once in the tower overlooking the MK, which was spectacular,and last year we had a garden view in the south wing which was equally spectacular, but in a natural sense, as we overlooked the lake, and had lovely ducks pecking on our slider every AM. Loved it, loved it, loved it. We enjoyed walking to/from the MK, enjoyed the monorails to TTA and Epcot, enjoyed Concourse Steakhouse (recently laid to rest in favor of The Wave. We're trying the AKL this year and I'm already having CR withdrawals.

The thing I like best about CR is the walk to MK. The rest is gravy. Having said that it's not my favorite resort. I'm more oriented to Epcot, so I love BWI. But that's just me. CR is a great place to stay especially if you are more interested in MK.

strat man----tell me about the Garden Wing. We've been in the Cont. Tower rooms, never the wings.We have 3 kids, so would we fit? Tell me what you can pros and cons :rooms, views, walking distances. TIA!!

The South Garden Wing building is about a 5 minute or less walk to the Tower, close to the pool and they are the same exact rooms that are in the Tower.

I guess some cons could be your not staying in the Tower where all the action happens, however others like them because they don't need to hear the noise from Chef Mickey's and everything else that happens on the 4th floor.
