Anyone ever stay at the contemporary? We are going september 8-12th and staying there, sounds like a great hotel. Anyone heard any annoucements about the dining plan being free again this fall?

We stayed there for the first time this past November and really liked it. We loved the larger rooms! We were in a garden wing room and we will definitely stay there again. It was so convenient to just walk to MK! And after Wishes, we just walked back. No waiting. It was wonderful!

Three weeks from this morning I'll be eating breakfast with the Princesses at the Castle! -oh yeah, my kids and DH will be there too! ;) This will be my third stay at the Contemporary and I cannot recommend it enough. This is especially true if your children are small. Being close to the Magic Kingdom is so nice for naps and at the end of the day. When the kids get a little older, we'll go to the moderate resorts, but for now the convenience of the Contemporary is worth every dime.

I was hoping to hear that. We went last September and stayed at the port orleans riverside. The hotel grounds were beautiful. Two big problems no elevators and buses. Not a big deal if you do not have 2 toddlers with a stroller and bags.

Very excited to be that close and not have to deal with the buses.

We just stayed there in February. The big rooms were great (added bonus: a computer with free internet access!). We LOVED being able to walk to and from the Magic Kingdom. Enjoy your trip. :)

We stayed at the Contemporary years ago when our big kids were 8 and 4. They still talk about it, and we stayed in a garden wing, not even in the Tower. It's really convenient to MK and even EPCOT. We're going back this Fall, just the kids and I, hopefully AP rates will get us a room in the Tower.

It's a great resort. There's a photo thread on the resorts board.

You cant beat the Contemporary. Location, location. Walk to MK, mononrail that you can wheel a stroller onto to go to Epcot. Chef Mickey.

We really enjoy it there. Some day I would like to try other resorts but for now the CR works best for our family

For being "contemporary" the facility is a little out of date but you really can't beat the location, the monorail access, and Chef Mickeys! Plus they have a nice little counter service restaurant in the main tower, which is right next to a big arcade the kids love. In the wing there are some nice parks, ducks to feed, and some great places to view the nightly water electric parade. Also, its fun to take the boats over to Ft. Wilerness for the HDR dinner, the nightly campfire sing a long and movie, and the recreations of FTW (horse back riding, petting zoo, hay rides, etc).

you'll enjoy it!

We love it as well. We had a tower room that faced they bay. It was just beautiful. We all took a nap on our huge fluffy bed, with the slider open and feeling the wonderful breeze. For the first time at any Disney hotel, I finally felt like I was on vacation. Even though we only live 40 minutes away, we will definately stay there again.
One tip, don't order the kids peanut butter and jelly from room service...it comes on multi-colored bread, I'm talking red, purple, yellow..:scared1: .it's enough to make you gag. I couldn't even let the kids touch it..ICK!

We have booked CR for May 2009 and im so excited and feel i made a great choice! We have 3 kids ages 4, 6, & 16 and this seems like a very nice convenience with the monorail and having the choice to walk to MK (I dont think we will but its nice to know the option is there). I cant wait to eat at Chef Mickeys(this is very convenient also) and to swim in the pools (previous posters liked the waterslide so this will be great for the kids.) Plus this is the first Disney hotel, you cant get much more disney than that.
