I am debating these 2 resort - both cost round the same. Thinking about getting to MK or EPcot NYE. Need suggestions. I prefer Disney hotels but if I could not get to a park I would want to be an area where I can view NYE firework from resort area.

Contemporary ALL THE WAY!!!! If you get a standard wing room , it is an incredible view of the fireworks..it is like you are RIGHT THERE!!!!! :sunny: :flower:

When I had the dolphin booked, even with balcony room I just didnt get that magical feeling I do when I have a Disney resort booked :cool1: I am going for the Contemporary. :sunny:

I do love both of these resorts. If you want to see fireworks from the resort, go with Contemporary. I'd book now, especially if you want a standard view wing room. I've never watched the fireworks from the Dolphin because we didn't have a room with an Epcot view. I believe you will pay considerably more for that on New Years Eve. At the Contemporary, you can always go stand in front of the North Wing or on the 4th Floor observation deck to see the fireworks. My only hesitation to stay there NYE is that MK will be packed that night.

We spent 2 NYE's at the DOLPHIN and had fabulous views of the Epcot fireworks. We love the S/D and find the location ideal. I know you metioned spending NYE in MK but you may find MK over crowded on NYE. Epcot is much larger and does not seem as crowded on NYE. You can also join www.starwood.com and possibly get a room upgrade if available at the DOLPHIN. Be sure to request Epcot view if you do choose the DOLPHIN. Have a great time! Happy planning!

What I am thinking is that we will be checking in late as we fly from england 9 hr flight. If the kids are to sleepy to go to a park we can watch from the resort and without going to a park I would prefer Wishes to illuminations. If the kids are up to going to a park we would like to go to MK but if not EPCOT. I am hoping some of the park guests with youngster will leave around 8-9pm so we could get in. Still trying to fathom out a plan of action and I know people recommend the Dolphin but if I stayed there I would only wish I was staying at the Beach Club - which is too pricey on NYE. :confused3 As we have 3 kids the 462 ft rooms of the CR would probably be more comfy.
