Contemporary Room options

We are thinking of using the military discount to visit in Dec. We have stayed at the GF twice, but haven't been to the Contemporary since '79. What are the room options? Do certain rooms get noisy from the monorail? I've heard some rooms are quite a walking distance-- is that true? Help!

I have stayed in the north garden wing several times (maybe 4?) and in the tower (10th floor, lagoon view - a magical upgrade by Mickey) once. The north garden wing is great, close as you can get to MK! I've always requested (and received) close to the food court so the walk isn't far. I loved the tower! The view was magnificent, convient to the monorail, food and shopping. I didn't notice any noise from the monorail, or atrium while we were in the room. It's cool to look over the railing from the upper floors at the people in the atrium (Chef Mickey's, Concourse Steakhouse, etc).

It's a totally different atmosphere than the GF. I think it's much more laid back and casual. I love the CR!!
